I don't really understand why a demographic of players voting for maximum nostalgia ruleset are even remotely content with how they'll launch this. Mages dominating everything, nagafen dead in 72 hours, etc etc... how is this nostalgic for anyone? I played EQ on launch; in no way shape or form will this resemble vanilla EQ.

As they try to come up with new mechanics for fights melee dps grow closer to extinction. It's funny watching them work on their throwing skillups while sporting weapons with Inte's Sword of Death level ratios. Wizards have ran rampant for years now - any other dps class is just there to collect welfare.

Unfortunately, until the merc era wizards have the problem of needing a whole fucking army of boxes to support. (basically, a mage group + the wizard, when you could just main the fuckin mage from lv1 to infinity)

Given the timetable I'm looking at this as a series of servers rather than one long continuous experience. I'll play a bit of classic and show back up in December for Kunark. That's where most of my nostalgia sets in anyway. Then next summer for Velious and the winter after for Luclin. Then Summer 2017 for PoP. There's no way in Satan's butt crack I'm going to stay subbed and play that whole time even mega-casually. As soon as Classic feels like work I'm going to the sidelines. If I actually sub for a second month I'll be pretty surprised.

It's sold in EC, but the NPC that sells it was not on the last TLP until Velious launch.

I think the server could/will be fun with a single account on a casual basis as long as you roll something relatively self-sufficient. Don't go making a warrior/rogue/ranger/knight/monk if you plan to just dork around as you'll never get outleveled by the masses and lose any ability to find a group.

Have they let the numbers go on harm touch yet? All I've heard is it'll be severely gimped compared to the last run, but other than that nada.
