That's just my definition of PvE endgame. I even state 'personally', If you think fishing to 200 is endgame to you, or 5-man contents. Totally fine by me.

Rifle sure does take a while to skill up. I am on a perch just shooting at slow targets as they respawn.

Invasions are essentially raids. It's a 50 man raid that, as far as I know, hasn't won yet at least on my server or Shrouds server.

10 groups of 5 people vs PVE. Unfortunately most people don't know to sign up at 50 and without excellent coordination it's very close to impossible with this set of gear/knowledge most players have at the moment. Some really cool shit in Invasions as well, like mobs you won't see anywhere else.

No. Anyone can sign up, I believe the faction that owns it, OR each faction gets to choose 10 people. The rest are auto selected.

Reviews are pretty mixed. Some folks love it and it's the best MMO they've played in a decade, others are getting bored with it already. Seems like the engine is nearly perfect and combat is solid. So, I'm sure it'll get even better as they add content over time.

Ultimately, it seems like YMMV.

Many cucks called it boring just a handful of days after launch.

These opinions have to be discarded.

It was pretty big on the time investment front. I'd be playing it if I had more free time - it's a solid game for that style of game. I just don't like playing those types of games without that large chunk of time, as I know I'd always be one step behind someone.

Just don't know if I can grind another game like OSRS. This is basically 2007 era RuneScape 2 but in 3D. And that's fucking awesome.

I personally would take group content over raiding 100% of the time. From EQs 60+ raids, to wows 40 mans and then 25 mans and now 10 mans or whatever the fuck it is, youre just a DPS number, a healbot, maybe tank if lucky. Plus the guild drama and attention whores....Meh. Groups are more personal and content catered to groups is way more fun especially challenging content like this that a raid at a set time,. set place every week for a 1/40th or whatever the fuck chance to score an upgrade. Im glad this game does not have raids and I hope it does not go that way.

I don't see how EQ/WoW style raids would fit into the design. Even RuneScape's 'raids' were challenging small man content.

I personally play MMO for its 'massive' style of contents, that epic battle feeling, so raid for PvE, and RvR for PvP. Anything lesser than that in terms of scale is no different than playing a MOBA, or Arena FPS, or multiplayer mode on a singleplayer game. That being said, I have a feeling they are going to develop 2-group "raid" contents if you call that a raid.

The wars could be cool, if it wasn't for their stupid design. Right now it's just a bunch of assholes spamming AoE on the point.

I feel like the wars need the deaths to matter a lot more. Right now people can respawn at the rally or whatever and they pop up right next to the point and continue their fighting. It would be cool if the respawn waves were way slower so that each death way painful and so you could actually make progress without it just being a zerg. Also, if people respawned all at once, it would help with the trickle feeding of bads who just keep running into the blob and getting ground up.

It's hard to tell if the invasions are overtuned or the players undergeared. However, I will say that the layout of a fort for war vs. a layout of a fort for invasions aren't really compatible. You -NEED- T3 repeaters for the invasion waves. Explosive cannons are almost completely worthless, even vs. invasion siege weapons. You also need siege weapons facing the back of the fort (which isn't really useful in wars currently)

However, t3 explosives are pretty useful in wars (along with repeaters) since they do decent AOE damage to players and can knock them off the points and are great for bottlenecks like the doors.

However, I've been in quite a few invasions where it just spawns tons of bosses at the same time and people just get overwhelmed. Highest wave I've seen is 5.

The Runescape comparison seems to be strengthening over time.

14 days, if they can't push major fixes and adjustments quickly then they are going to have some problems.

Man I really fucking love this game despite all the problems. This breakup is gonna be so painful.

I just see a car crash coming. AGS is way too inexperienced and slow to change. There are about a dozen major issues that are heading for a cliff right now and with the way the internet/gaming works nowadays, the game could be empty in a week flat (look at how fast FF14 exploded).

They don't seem to be doing anything about the major issues or are way too slow and it just sucks. Maybe there will be a resurgence in a few years when they get their shit together, but right now I'm bracing myself for heartache.

to be fair ff14 2.0 was pretty fucking lame, it just finally met a bare mmo standard, I distinctly remember playing when they released Ninja via a patch and thinking, gee.. you kinda fucking owe it the playerbase anyway. So I mean NW is pretty close to this. Even FF14 2.0 was annoying as fuck to play coming from peak WoW with addons, weird shit like chocobo travel system was jarring in 2.0, among varying other QoL things.

Edit: 220 hours logged with idle time on the client. Not bad for 40 bucks.
Edit: FF14 2.0 is just as much a running simulator as New World. Fight me on it - pray return the waking sands up your sandy pussy

Lol jeez. It's crazy how poorly coded some of the game is. In a perfect world it would be fine to have it this way but people just can't help themselves from easy cheats sometimes.

mkopec mkopec :

Any advice on Embossed Wrappings / Enchanted Bowstrings etc? I have a similar stockpile of the artifacts but none of the "Powerful Humanoid" legendaries

With that said, I'm going to blow up a spot because its too broken and everyone may as well get in on it before they nerf:

Spilaio Cavern area, 20 second run southwest of Mountainrise outpost. There are 2 lvl 62 silver elite named that spawn for a quest there.....

They have wild loot, and their ability to raise GS watermark doesn't seem to have a cap. We've been getting 560+ weapons/armor off them, and they seem to lean more heavily towards weapons. It's not really a top secret spot at this point and its probably a day or two out from going mainstream but figured I'd let the FOH boys in.

If you can get the spot to yourself, you can run direct lines between the two spawn points and the next named will be up by the time you get there. It must be a quest mob proximity spawn mechanic or something; if you camp in the chamber, they'll take 5-10 mins to respawn, but running back and forth between the two (maybe a 1 minute run dodging trash?) is basically zero downtime

One of them does some major arcane/void damage though, so be warned

Anyway my first question stands: ANYONE have a line on Embossed Wrappings? Sitting on 200 engi waiting to craft some of the gucci shit and cannot get a line on where to target farm

Youtubers put this up almost a week ago now (14th is the earliest I see it). Surprised its taken this long for people to catch on to the spot. I was there for the quests that the town on the right side of Shattered Mountain sends you to kill both of the named silver elites there and you can just solo the shit. The void staff guy I mentioned day before yesterday when I was talking about weapons. Its an easy spot, but with everyone and their mom talking about it - I cant imagine how much longer its going to be a relevant area. When I was there I didnt know that the gear was scaling as high as 560, however. So thats really interesting - but Ive just been slamming my dick against the wall leveling Life Skills and not worrying about gear at all.

Ah well shit, I had the one guy for the quest (Tzi-Wang) and I couldn't find him, but I kept seeing a massive group running around that area. Guess that's what they were doing.
One boss, cant remember their names - but if you enter on the top side is there. If you enter on the bottom side, the other one is there. If you know your way around in it, but are, like has been said, pretty much a straight line between the two.

Im not sure if you're on Vingolf or not. But I saw some advertisement the other day in Recruitment asking 60's to come to the invasion wars cause theyve never been won. So if you're not talking about Vingolf - then I would say invasions are tuned poorly if theyve never been won any multiple servers. Ive never fooled with them, myself. But even with as much as I play this game, Im always busy with something else in game when invasions happen.

Been working on getting furnishings up and holy fk is the grind on this shit at low level even more brutal than armorsmithing in the late levels. Jesus f'n christ.
