For a company that literally has billions to spend and it not even effect the bottom line, this is a diaster.

So many people said this game needed more time to be fleshed out and polished, but newp..release this shit in a completely unfinished state and just try to recover a fraction of what was put in to it.

This isnt a case of a studio or publisher having to release due to budget or financial concerns. Bezos makes more money per day than theyve spent on this title alone.

No one benefits from a failed launch or title, no one. There was quite a few things here to like, and lord knows we need more options when it comes to MMOs. However it will be deemed a failure and less and less studios will take a risk pointing to the fsct that with an unlimited budget this mmo failed, so how can they compete.

Everyone loses in this case.

don't you have to have three houses with 5 trophies in each to craft the 600 gear + the other shit?
Trophies only affect the minimum score by +3 for the smallest ones. If you use the best possible mats on the 150+ gear it will be 570 without food/items which give +30. Right now with 3 trophies and full armorer gear I am making 584-600's. Just made my 1st legendary yesterday actually and it's super good. If only it rolled pure int or any other stat besides str it would've been worth a small fortune.

What is the highest weapon smith food? I found a recipe for savory veggie medley, which gives +15 to min/max on weaponsmithing

Theyre going to down size the team and more if the game isnt making more than a pittance after costs. They apparently have a high schooler working on the in game economy, but I highly doubt some over educated accountant isnt looking at the books.

I'd say that already happened after it shipped or at least is about to happen.

They have to maintain profitability, and also Bezos wants to know AGS is doing well. The only way to float this game is to drastically reduce costs as soon as possible. They'll skeleton it and move to the next project. As mentioned, look how skeletal the New World cash shop is. Many areas of the game, even the monetization, require a lot more man hours and money investment than what was turned over. I can't see them sinking significant money into bringing the game up to a AAA level.

It's clear this was never a AAA team. The lack of QOL patch and QOL improvements speaks to that.

The fact is you have to know how to spend money.

You have to know how to hire. I hate Mark Cuban, but he harps on that constantly when he's doing a venture. And it's true.

I still trust the hiring process at EA over AGS. Even Activision in it's current state likely shits on AGS infrastructure.

The team they have now can't handle this game. They won't make any real money from the store, and no sub fee, I don't see how this will be sustained. So in the meantime, I'll have fun with the bugs they introduce. Went full focus and machine gun dual life staves today, it's hilarious fun.

Hatchet is fun as well. I can get my white damage up to 1.5-2k with this current bug. Also, apparently food buffs stack if you use different ones? I have not tried that one yet.

I think this game might be more broke that it was in Beta.

Yeah, they keep introducing new game breaking bugs with every patch. Feels like they're breaking more than fixing.

I only messed with the hatchet one today, and it helped me do some watermark farming. Only really got it up to like 1200 crits, my white damage was only ever like 600. Guess I wasn't going to the right place to set it up.

What's the dual life staff one? Being life staff main, sounds like it could be fun.

Apparently not only is there a bug with jumping the wall for Outpost Rush, but also one with brutes where the tokens are duplicated so you can just spam spawn them.

Rob is right that this team is overwhelmed. They'll never catch up at this rate, especially with how they keep breaking stuff. These patches that fix like one minor bug that was introduced post launch aren't going to cut it.

Equip 2 life staves, have your keyboard macro go nuts. I threw this one together, I'm sure with tweaking it you can fire off even more rapid. Right now it feels like 6-8 times faster than what you can do normally. Get the talent that reduces cooldowns by 5% per light attack for extra fun.

F is my button for Sacred Ground
; switches weapons (had to add that in keybinds, it was blank)

I could be wrong but my theory is they scuttled the development team right before release (to reduce salary roll, put people on other projects, etc) and they launched the game with a skeleton team thinking they'll fix stuff here and there and see how it goes. They most likely failed to anticipate how massive the player count was going to be, and now they're completely drowned because too many people are playing their game. Cheating, abuses, exploits, item duplication are getting rampant, bots everywhere, known bugs list beats patch fixes by a multiple ten margin, they don't seem to have enough manpower to handle anything besides bare minimum service.

Some of this is somewhat expected during a big MMO release, but the fact that they let blatant exploits like the hatchet one running on for a whole weeked doesn't really look good at all. They really need to do some magic patch to fix most of the big issues and stop the cheating craze, because right now it doesn't look like it has a promising future.

We had a big war today for Everfall. We were the attackers (yeah we mopped them in 15 min) but both companies made agreement not to use hatchets. Once one came out they would all come out. Surprisingly no one got caught using one, war went smooth.

Saw some guy instantly poof after mining a node in front of me. This was in a cave and he didn’t even run in. I figured maybe he logged there but then he instantly disappeared after mining the node. Could there be any porting exploits ?

At this point, I would expect pretty much anything from the game. I've been completely disheartened with this game due to the number of things outside of my control that have negatively impacted my experience up to now.

If after the next bug fix "patch", they haven't fixed (or even addressed) some of the issues I have problems with, then I'm putting the game on the back burner for a long time.

The funny thing is, I'm one of the types of players they shouldn't be alienating. I like to buy things from their cash shop and have no problem spending money for things. I can't imagine I'm alone in feeling this way.

Oh well, on to BF2042.

Mauraders on our server are the biggest exploiters - they use and have used any exploit. And of course they like to declare wars to get the most out of that.

It's one of those things where I can't even blame people for exploiting anymore. AGS has done literally nothing about it, so why not?

I am in the same boat. I also have no problem spending more money on the game. I did enough with GW2.

It is sad to watch a brand new MMO just die because of the lack of care. I did get my value from the game but it sucks that the value will lack any real long term potential at this rate.

It is nice for one group of people.

I have to think that Intrepid(Ashes of Creation) has learned a lot from this game. The amount of "things not to do" this game has revealed is giving Intrepid a lot of good information to work with. They get real value at a good time in their development cycle. The way it is shaping up, Intrepid could actually be the company that benefits the most from New World.

What irritates me is that the game is probably not a loss for Amazon. I feel like it made all the development money back and perhaps even a little more. I wonder if they had just committed a full team to this game's endeavor and charged a monthly fee, if it could have turned around. Sad to say, unless something drastically changes, the future of this game is not looking bright at all.
