Vick is at least as big of a piece of shit as Rice. No question and I thought him coming back to the NFL was disgusting. The difference is he went to jail and served his time and in this country you often get a second chance.

The point is , unless you are wacko, comparing animal abuse with spousal abuse is retarded.

Rice will never be allowed in the NFL again imo.

That being said if there was no video, and he was just caught doing this I think the NFL, and the public would turn a blind eye on it with very minimal suspensions.
How many domestic abuse charges do we have against celebrities with no consequences.

Vick actually did his time and has been stand up since. Rice seems to have lied to the NFL about his actions that night and the justice system failed because he was a NFL player.
Where did Rice lie? Ozzie Newsome said Rice told him exactly what the video showed, both of them. Only Goodell has claimed Rice lied and didn't even say lied he said there was ambiguity in what he was told but he also said the NFL didn't receive the Video and is in full blown cover up mode. Also when it comes to the justice system, it would be required for the laws to change in order to have anything done to Rice unless you have a better understanding of NJ law than that prosecutor. Not defending Rice but everything you said is flat out bull shit with the exception that Vick did his time.

I'm pretty sure his wife has to file against him anyway. Unless the hotel is allowed to press charges for fighting inside there premises.

Not that way in Oregon, if police find evidence of abuse(like a video) they will file charges against the person regardless.

You bros have to have some faith in the system if you want it to work. Vick served his time, hopefully he's been rehabilitated since then and has become a better man. I see no reason why he shouldn't be given another chance.

I love animals waaaaay more than people too. I couldn't give two shits about Janay Rice, I'd take a fucking punch like that to be rich for as long as she has or will.

That is a problem since the offense feeds off Jackson and Spiller. If you can't make Manuel sit in the pocket then you're opening yourself up to get beaten.

I think Vick shouldn't have ever been allowed to play again. Look, I'm all for prisoner rehab, giving guys a second chance and all that, but fuck giving them a job that pays seven figures or more. Playing in the NFL is a privilege. You should lose that privilege the moment a guilty verdict is passed down.

Yeah the D-line going to have to do serious work if they want any hope of containing Spiller/Jackson, which is really worrisome because Randy Starks was walking around in a boot in practice today.

Yeah fuck that guy for using the only marketable skills he has. He should have to flip burgers to make sure he re-offends so we can send his ass back to prison.

I still feel what Vick did was worse than Rice. Vick knowingly and for a very long time abused and killed animals just for sport. Giving Rice complete benefit of the doubt could have just acted hastily in the heat of the moment. Then again Vick did go to jail for like a year and Rice isn't getting any time so I guess the courts saw it similarly.

Vick is worse, for now. Rice ever does that again then I would change my mind or if you could show me Rice having a history of this behavior.

What Vick did was infinitely worse. Rice punched a woman in the face during a single incident (as far as we know). Vick killed and tortured dozens or hundreds of dogs over several years. He did his time for it though, and I had no problem with the NFL letting him have an opportunity if a team was willing to give him a shot.

It's pretty funny to watch the double standard with the whole situation though. Kwame Harris (retired a couple years ago) came out as gay last year and beat the shit out of his boyfriend in public. Just look at the tone of the PFT article and the commentsKwame Harris gets jail time for assault | ProFootballTalk. Man on man domestic abuse is comedy. Man on woman domestic abuse brings 50 million SJW's out of the woodwork and rocks the league.

Nix. Domestic abuse charges are filed by police because victims used to frequently back out of pressing charges, thus exposing them to more danger. It's been this way for a long, long time.

Welcome to the real world. Same sex couple violence is significantly more prevalent in our society, it's just no one gives a shit because they think gay people should get their ass kicked for making god angry.

Are you a fucking idiot?
No, but I know you are. Domestic abuse is domestic abuse. Doesn't matter if it's man on man, man on woman, or woman on man. I have several male relatives and friends who have had guns pulled on them or been attacked with knives by their spouses and girlfriends and no one seems to give much of a shit after a day or two.

Something I don't get about this whole deal.

If some middle manager at a large company was caught on video doing the same thing as Rice, nobody would be calling for the CEO of the company to resign.

This is a football league, how are they held responsible for what their players (employees of the NFL) do when not playing or doing NFL stuff (training, official appearances etc.) If some dude at McDonalds did this they wouldn't be calling for the manager's head. The only thing I can think of is maybe these people are more known or public?

Most Athletes, football players in particular, have a short career. Now, he was in a position that allows for a longer overall career, but at some point he was going to need to move on anyway. So your response is, in essence, bullshit. So he moves on to something else before he planned. And I'm sure he could have used the several million dollars in salary that he had accumulated prior to that in order to push that along.

Oh, I forgot, he was a piece of shit and probably blew everything like the walking stereotype he was at the time.

My point still stands. I'm all for giving a guy a second chance, but the NFL should have moved on from Vick the moment he became a felon.
