Where's the sarcasm? You're not supposed to lead with your helmet when making a tackle. You're supposed to shift your head to the side of the ball and drive through with your legs. Not spear them in the chest with your helmet.
Yeah, the guy speared him. Stupid rule or not it's a pretty unambiguous hit and will draw the flag every single time.
This could cost the league money and the commissioner his job. Even the TV guys know where their bread is buttered.

Oh come on, it looks brutal but she had no lasting injuries from it, didn't even have broken bones and according to the police report, wasn't admitted to the hospital.
Compared to a guy literally shooting himself in the fucking head in front of his team's stadium and staff, this is NOTHING.

What I was getting at is when you compare it to an actual tragedy, it's extremely unimportant.
When you compare it to when I stubbed my toe this morning getting out of bed, it's extremely important.

What a stupid argument, your toe or you aren't part of the NFL but the guy who blew his brains out in front of the Chiefs office was.
The point is that everything doesn't have to be some enormous tragedy to be important. You can substitute Peyton Manning for me in the toe-stubbing scenario if it makes you feel better. I'm sure he does it once in a while, he's getting old.

This is what I responding do. Elurin was comment on how the commentators were calling it the darkest week in the league.

Things like Steve McNair being shot dead by his girlfriend, Sean Taylor being murdered by burglars that broke into his house, Rae Carruth aiding in the assassination of his pregnant girlfriend, Chris Henry's tragic death, Junior Seau's suicide that could be linked to a condition sustained from CTE that he got from playing so long in the NFL.
THESE events are things that can be counted towards the darkest days of the league. Not some girl getting hit and being ok the next day.
