Peyton being god-awful in the play-offs will forever preclude him from being the GOAT.
He won the Super Bowl, though. So he's already ahead of Dan Marino, Elway is a whole 1 ahead of him, etc. I think that's honestly more of a basketball argument - there's just too many more people that go into a football championship than dumping all of the results, good and bad, on the QB.

Fun fact: Trent Dilfer had a better QB rating in his super bowl run than Manning.

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that first paragraph was supposed to be sort of tongue in cheek
I went back and edited in the word "mathematically" specifically to make it more clear that I was kidding but I still kind of expected someone to latch on to it.

Are any of those guys in the HoF? Even Green? He had some good receivers, but no Rice, Johnson, Moss, or similar caliber guys. Christ, I think none of those guys made the pro-bowl more than twice, even. And that's the other thing. Those guys got hurt a lot and you never saw a falloff in his production in the same way you would in, say Brady when Gronk goes down or after Welker got traded. Marino and Elway, same deal. Just look at how much Harvin's numbers fell off from his one year with Favre versus his time in Seattle. I am not trying to say Favre is the best QB ever or even better than Brady or Manning (for the record, imo: Montana, Manning, Brady, Marino, Favre, in that order), but there are going to be a hell of a lot of guys who played with Brady and Manning who will get into the HoF. I do feel that Don Bebe and Donald Driver should have been HoF guys and that Nelson eventually will be, however.

A lot of stupid comes out of some of the 49ers fans on this board. Its was an honest mistake.

PS- Holy fuck is Watt's career being wasted worse than Barry Sanders was.

I would love to see how much Brady's numbers fell off after he stopped getting the other team's defensive signals fed to him, as well. The 19-1 season is basically the last time he really piled up a ton of numbers and getting to beat up on the AFC East year in and year out helps pad those numbers a bit. He is good in bad weather though, which a lot of elite QBs (including Favre and Manning) are/were not.

Dilfer's QBR from their Super Bowl season is actually a hyperlink that brings up the Baltimore defensive stat sheet from the season. They made an exception for him.

Are you talking about good talent or hall of fame tier talent? GB had a 1000+ yard rusher almost every year Favre was on the team, and good receivers throughout his career. No, they never had a Jerry Rice or Randy Moss, but GB has collectively had better skill players over the last 20 years than maybe any team.

Green Bay has been incredible when it comes to WRs over the last decade+.

1000+ rusher? I don't think so.

Sober up, son.

Edgar Bennett went over 1000 in 1995. Bennett/Levens went over 1000 combined in 1996 when Bennett got hurt. Dorsey Levens went over 1000 in 1997 and 1999. Ahman Green rushed over 1000 yards in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006.
