When you say "had those games lately" i, and any other person would consider that to be more than 2 games. Even with your cherry picking he cant beat a single TE in NFL in any statistical category.

That was a different D, no browner, gimpy Wilfork, no run d, no pass rush, revise jogging.

On the gronk subject, I think he is a bit more unique in that he can compete with all those guys listed as a receiver and also do so well blocking like the better blocking TEs, the Denver pass rush is good and I have to watch the game again but I bet money gronk was blocking a whole lot there when it was the other guys turn to catch.
