There was no owner outrage when the 11-5 defending champion Saints had to travel to the 7-9 Seahawks and lost. I doubt there will be a bunch of pissed off owners after the first round of this playoffs either.
As a saints fan, I've blocked that game out of my memory

The league has been down this path before. Running QBs are a one trick pony and eventually they all get drilled and lose a step, usually sooner rather than later. Some of them adapt to actually throwing the ball accurately and making good reads while scrambling (Young, McNabb, McNair, Elway), but most end up just being really shitty passers who lose the ability to run (Vick, RG3, Kaeperbro, Tebow) eventually turning into interception factories. Very few straddle the line (Culpepper, maybe Wilson). The league has been through this trend a few times over the last couple decades and every time pocket passers are declared dead, they end up dominating the game all over again. Wilson in the SB last year stands out as the lone exception to this in the modern era and he was backed by arguably the best (and most roided up) defense since the 86 Bears, plus the best active RB in the league.

RG3 is just the latest in a recurring fad of running QBs that turn to shit.
I don't think Kaepernick has lost his ability to run yet, they are just not letting him do it trying to make him into a pocket passer. To me though, that has pretty much failed at this point. I think they need to just turn him lose and let him run for the rest of this season and if he gets hurt he gets hurt. I think they should just cut their losses and let him run at this point and figure that they're in the market for a new QB unless he starts to show something that he hasn't in the last 4 years. I was still hopeful at the beginning of the season that he was going to get to the next level but I sure haven't seen any progress this season. If anything he has regressed as a passer.

No. What they should have done is trade up to the pick right after JFF to draft Bridgewater.

I honestly think it would be hilarious if Atlanta or New Orleans went to the super bowl with a regular season record of 7-9..... which is possible this year. however NO is playing decently and looking at their final 4 games i think that they will win at least 3 of them putting them at 8-8. Atlanta i only see winning maybe 2 of their final 4 games since they have to play green bay New orleans and pittsburgh

Neither of those teams play even average defensively and create no turnovers, no way they make it to the Superbowl.

Attending last night's fiasco of a football game, I saw more people wearing Dallas gear than Chicago gear. And the Bears could have been swapped out with the Three Stooges and Dallas would have gotten a better game.

When the stadium announcer said, "And the extra point is ... ~blocked~ ...", I pictured him throwing his microphone away and murmuring "WTF!" at the comedy fest playing out.

Wilbon penned an article for ESPN Chicago that I found to be decent in terms of putting a finger on the problems they're having. It's pretty much summed up with something that's been used to describe Dallas at various points since Romo became the starter: Lots of talent, just can't win when they need to. We rag on Cutler but statistically speaking he's actually playing better than he ever has, turnovers notwithstanding. That defense though, they just can't stop anyone. Chicago and Dallas might just be two sides of the same coin when you get right down to it.

Redskins tickets for Sunday selling on the secondary market for as low as $3. The train ticket to get to the stadium and back is twice that. What is more accurate at this point, Raiders East or Jaguars North?

Raiders East. Horrible team with horrible owner who loves the spotlight.

One of my best friends is a cowboys fan and it seems to both of us that the bears are the 2013 cowboys, the offense can do well but the defense is just historically bad. I'll give trestman another year before I make any kind of judgement on him. I think he inherited a defense at the end of its run and winning with just offense is hard. Especially in a division with 3 teams who have pretty good defenses. Really hoping the jets fire rex and the bears get him to be D coordinator next season.

The Giants have lost seven in a row and are a laughingstock of the NFL. They are almost uniformly being picked to win at Tennessee this weekend. Go Titans.

*sob*

Honestly though, I hope we get the first pick. I don't like anyone this year in the draft yet really but I'd like to talk myself into someone.

What the Titans need to do is get the 1st overall, then trade it to the Redskins for multiple #1's. The Redskins' front office is stupid and will do it again for Mariotta.

Need them to get their shit together just enough to beat the Eagles at the end of the year.

I was hoping for this also but the reality is Trestman is going to be on the burner next year and it's going to be really hard to pull a top tier talent be come coordinate with him unless there's a Wink-Nod situation where the Rex would get the coaching gig in the worst case scenario.
