So if a player on your team gets suspended, does the salary they lose for those games still count against the cap?

Reserve/Suspended- This listing is for players who have been suspended by the NFL. Players on the suspended list are not paid for their time suspended, do not count against the active 53, and their salaries are reduced to reflect the weeks they are suspended. For example Justin Blackmon of the Jaguars will see his base salary drop from 17 games of pay to just 13 games of pay. Players can also have their signing bonuses reduced due to forfeiture provisions in the CBA. In the case of drug suspension this is mandatory. In other cases teams will determine if they will go after bonus money. I am unsure if this forfeiture is accrued during of after the season, but will try to clarify at a later date. While suspended the cap charges count in full.

FYI if you have direcTV they will pretty much give you Sunday Ticket for free if you call up and threaten to cancel. It's like their #1 retention ploy. Don't ask the regular customer service people for it, just tell them you want to cancel and then when you get to the retention people you can tell them that you only use DirecTV because of the free Sunday Ticket and they will usually give it to you. If you're not on DTV now you don't even have to ask because they are throwing in a free season of Sunday Ticket for anyone that signs up right now.
We did that in years past and it worked well. At the very least we'd get it cheaper.

This year I cancelled completely about 2 weeks ago (going to just use streaming/HD antenna for sports, and HTPC for everything else). About a week after I cancelled they sent me an offer for like $20/month for a year, free HBO/Showtime/Cinemax for 3 months, and Sunday Ticket completely free if I came back. I would have considered it, except it came with a new 2 year contract.

I haven't personally done it, but a person I know even got free Sunday Ticket in the middle of a contract. They told her that they were going to charge her a $200 early termination fee and she just didn't blink and said "Yes I understand that" and then they started offering her stuff.

Let us know how that is going after a few weeks of the season. The only thing keeping me from cutting the cable/satellite cord is live sports. All of those free offshore streaming sites have atrocious quality, IMHO. A lot of times not even standard-def quality, much less HD. I watch too much sports to watch it in a grainy 360x240 resolution format

Login Page.

I've been using it for almost three years now. Never going to use another service. $10/month is a joke for pretty much all live sports.

That's why I kind of wanted to know what other people had experiences with the different providers. Preseason week 2 I found a feed that looked pretty close to 720p. But since then it's been essentially SD looking (although at a better aspect ratio).

Does MMA-TV have HD feeds that will look good on a 50ish inch TV?

I can't seem to get MMA-TV to work, I click register and it takes me to some sort of error message. Am I missing a secret entrance or something?

I did get Acestream working but I haven't found any Acestream links for the preseason games. The soccer game I tuned into looked great on my 70" using it.

MMA-TV's registration has been fucked for a year +. It won't even recover the password for the account I had used for several years, but fortunately I made a free account with a different email a while ago. Hoping that it'll sync with my paypal that's on a different email. If you can somehow get registered with them then the streams are great.

Alex, have you tried Paypal-ing them recently? I click the Paypal link and it just refreshes the page. Wonder if they're just basically shut down at this point.

I am a bit surprised at the 9 game suspension for Smith, but oh well. I honestly figured it would be 6 at the most since Goodell said he would consider the self imposed 5 games that Smith took off last year. The story I read said they decided not to take that into account.

49ers defense is going to have some questions for the first half of the year. No Bowman for at least 6 games, and it will probably be closer to 8, and now Smith for 9 games. They lost Dorsey for most of the season, and have an almost entirely new secondary. Feeling real nervous about the upcoming year!

Amazing how quickly things change. I thought for sure the 49ers would be one of the main contenders this year.

Pretty surprised about it being 9 games, was thinking 4-6 and 8 being the max.
