Yeah, the Eagles for some strange reason cut Alex Henery.

Edit: Apparently the grabbed some rookie from Indy that nailed a 54 yarder in preseason. So I guess that's why.

That is odd, ya I just did some more research and found a cut analysis and didn't realize so many were on the market. Henery as you mentioned, Succop, Barth, and to a lesser degree Feely/Bironas. Will be interesting to see who we sign.

Looks like the Niners are going into the season with just 3 RB's, one of which may also be on kickoff and/or punt return duties. Probably a direct result of the fact that Gabbert has looked so bad they felt like they needed to keep 3 QB's. Should also be interesting to see what the depth chart looks like at WR, I think Patton won the #3 job but Johnson has the pedigree and experience.

Was also surprised to see the Hawks get rid of Winston. Their O-line hasn't exactly been stellar this pre-season either and they look like they are an injury away from desperation at that group. Winston at least had experience not only in the NFL in general but also with the zone blocking scheme. Tough to break in rookies/newbies into that scheme.

Manning's awesome response to the taunting flag/fine:

"Peyton Manning notified by NFL he is fined $8,200 for taunting of DJ Swearinger. No appeal. Peyton: "I accept it. Money well spent.""

You can't seriously think that was an "attempt to fool people"

if someone ever tries to sell you a bridge in brooklyn, they're not serious Famm.

I'm glad that Brandon Lloyd made the team just because I remember the circus catches he used to make when he was in SF before. I don't know if he can still do that, but it was fun to watch.

A lot of people will be disappointed with the Micheal Sams thing but I heard scouts saying when he was drafted that he would be a bit of a long shot to make the team. He's probably wishing that he would have done his reality show now since he's probably going to be looking for work at a grocery store in 6 months if he doesn't get on a practice squad somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if another team picks Sam up. He played extremely well in the preseason and would be a good signing by any team not as loaded at the position as the Rams. He could probably even start for Dallas

releasing him week 4 is the shittiest possible thing SL could have done to Sam.

I doubt he plays in the NFL.

He's not that big, he's not that fast, and he's not that smart.

6'2 256 LB who can't do anything well but blitz. Ran almost a 5 second 40

done to Sam.
"I dunno Chuck. This Sam kid is pretty good but I'm not sure if he's good enough to beat out our current core of linebackers to actually win a starting job. Should we try him out some more and see if he can hang with the big boys? Maybe see if he can make the team? Give him that opportunity?"

"Not really, Ralph. I consulted my magic 8-ball and I am now armed with perfect knowledge of all future events. If we did what you suggested, it might be a slightly harder for him to find a starting job somewhere else. Let's just release him now because I don't want to do that to him. He's a nice kid and doesn't deserve the horrible treatment you suggest we inflict on him."

"I'm sorry Chuck. Of course you're right as always. It's funny how I manage to keep my job here when I am constantly forgetting the cardinal rule of NFL team building, 'Always cut potential team members right away so that their career path is easier for them. Team needs come only after individual career needs.' Oh boy what a silly goose I am to forget that!"

"That's why you don't work for the Patriots Ralph."

More issues for the 49ers. McDonald arrested for domestic violence. So yet another hit to the defense.

Team's turning into the Bengals of half a decade ago. Errrybody getting arrested. By the end of the year I fully expect every player on the roster not named Boldin, Davis, Gore, or Willis to have been arrested at least once.

Mike Sam to SF? Also, this guy is about to be the first player to be served up to Goodell since they changed the DV policy. 6 game minimum for first offense, right?

Either him or Greg Hardy. Shitty thing is McDonald has $7mil. in dead money over this season and next. If he did this, he's gotta go though.

I read somewhere that it's harsher penalty if the victim is pregnant, which she is. So I'm pretty sure he is out for 8 games minimum.
