Luck's second 40 at the combine was 4.59. And yes I can't think of a team that wouldn't take Luck in a straight up swap right now considering his age.

I wish I had the willpower to look up all of Elurin's posts about Rg3 vs Luck back in the day and just how wrong he was/is.
I was never a huge fan of RG3 to begin with. Pretty sure I called the trade up to get him retarded. I was excited with the prospect of us finally having a QB, but it wasn't long into his first season that I called him out here for running around like an idiot.

I'd say the area I got wrong was in comparison with Russell Wilson. I shit talked that guy quite a bit. I still don't think he's an amazing QB. He's surrounded by a ton of talent and they don't ask him to do anything huge. Really, as long as he didn't fuck his team by turning the ball over and made a few smart plays, the Seahawks were in for a good season. The wrong part is that I said RG3 was a significantly better QB than Wilson. I've changed my mind on that one, and that's mostly because I just don't see RG3 "getting it" anytime soon. When you're running downfield and sliding around like an asshole trying to pick up an extra 2 yards in a preseason game, I just don't know that you're going to last in the NFL.

I'd be interested to see how Wilson could perform without the #1 RB and #1 Defense. That makes the QB's job much, much easier.

Wouldn't be as good. I don't think Russ would fit in any typical NFL program. The system that the Pete Carrol has built around Russ is tailored on his abilities. That's the way they have built the entire team. They don't have a system that they try and fit guys into. They draft guys then figure out how they can make that guy's special abilities shine. The same is true of Sherman, I don't think Richard Sherman even makes a team in most other cities(when he was a rookie, now is obviously a different story). This is all coming from a diehard Seahawks fan.

RG3 is an incredibly average Qb. I never really saw much positives to begin with for him. He is surely damn fast, but he lacks the same things Manziel does; the ability to read a defense, cannot go through the progressions, view the field as a whole, and would rather run than throw (due to the inability to do the other above). The irony I of it all stills comes down to Manziel looking up to Rg3 when RG3 is a average Qb. However, RG3 is supremely more talented than Manziel was and ever will be, I'll give him that...

Luck has proven to be pretty much the next upcoming great Qb behind Manning and Brady (hurts me to say that name). He's been productive since his first year and is growing exponentially fast. He has all the right tools/talents that people like Manning and Brady have. He also plays with an average offense, his team isn't stacked like most (those teams make mediocre qb's look good). So to compare Luck and RG3 in the slightest is idiotic. LUCK IS 10 times the Qb RG3 will ever be.

Also the NFL/players assoc. ought to invest in sliding plates. If these QBs are going to scramble and slide they need the right equipment to glide on the grass versus jacking up their knees like RGIII last night.

Connor Shaw... START that man! 3 minutes > 3 quarters of Manziel
Connor Shaw is good. Mizzou was 10 minutes away from being undefeated last year through the regular season if it weren't for Connor Shaw. Came in halfway through the 4th quarter and tore us up.

Because being a good college QB always means a fantastic NFL QB. Just ask Gabbert!

Browns are fucked. If they say having 2 QBs means you have 0 QBs I don't know what having 3 QBs means.

In fairness Gabbert wasn't really that great of a college QB.

Well, Shaw was easily the best QB I saw play against my team last year. Better than Manziel, better than Aaron Murray. Shaw put up more yards and more TDs in 1 quarter +OT against us than Johnny Football did in the entire game. And he was injured while doing it, that's why he didn't start the game. He's good.

No he wasn't, he put up horrible college stats considering the system he was playing in

I don't know what it is with the Browns and QB's. I mean, look no further than the Weeden decision. Who in the fuck drafts a 30 year old QB in the first round? I'd say it's just a bad front office but that front office changes pretty regularly. It's like someone in the organization feels like if they just keep throwing first round picks at QB's they'll hit on one eventually.

I wonder if they have had the same scouts for the last decade+.

Its a shame all those posts were on FoH, otherwise I would pull up the 500 times you mentioned RG3 learning to throw on his knees with his wrist before his first preseason.

Manziel was just letting them know what he thought about their team name.

And? That was true. The guy can throw it on a dime for 60 yards just by flicking his wrist. In fact, he did it several times in the game last night. And it also goes into my above posts where I said he's an amazing athlete. The guy has a cannon for an arm and is extremely accurate.

Unfortunately, he's completely wreckless with his body. And like I also said, he seems to be unable to learn how to read a defense pre-snap or to effectively go through his progressions. He can occassionally get to his second read, but rarely the third.

The fucked up part is he's an extremely intelligent guy. Just for some reason he can't put it together on the football field. The potential is there, but going into year three I just don't see it ever clicking for him. He'll remain an average to slightly above average QB until his body falls apart.

Want to see an example of his throws with just the flick of the wrist and not stepping into it...

Saw this comment on PFT and cracked up haha

RGIII slides like I do when coming home late from the bar and I see the wife turn the lights on. We use the same two legged, bent knees, inverted ankles, chin-up technique. Only difference he's on a football field and I'm "sliding" into our bushes.
