Here's the kind of stupid overreactions we're in for over the next few months as the Roger Goodell scandal formerly known as Ray Rice unfolds:

In the wake of the Ray Rice domestic violence case, CBS has thought better of opening tonight's pregame show in Baltimore with a feature including a song by one of America's most prominent survivors of domestic violence.

CBS Sports officials told Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated that they will no longer use a planned opening segment featuring Rihanna's "Run This Town." Rihanna, like Janay Rice, was the victim in a high-profile domestic violence case.
So a song by a DVvictimis going to somehow offend people? Maybe the league is in a more deeper panic mode than people are reporting...

Tyson did not fight at 240. He was always in the 215-220 range until the very end. And he was a shell of himself at that point anyways.

That's a little stupid, but Rihanna is annoying anyway, so it's still a win.

How are you not understanding this?

The CEO is held responsible for his pathetic "punishment" of said employee, not what the employee actually did.
In what other business does the CEO of the company hand down punishments to employees with no due process in addition to whatever punishment the state gives them? It's like if you got a speeding ticket on the weekend and then when you showed up to work on Monday the boss told you that the company was docking your pay $250 because of your speeding while on your own time. Regular companies either fire people or they don't but they don't set up their own little kangaroo courts to dispense justice on issues that don't have anything to do with your job at the company.

It's already been said before but, any thread where your actions and reputations reflect the company in the public eye. Period. Goodell and the NFL has made it their policy to try and curb player misconduct (see link I linked last page).

Brutul, your hypothetical employee isn't representing your brand nearly as strongly as NFL players represent that of the NFL. It's not a good analogy.

No, the Ray Rice stuff was under the personal conduct policy. Not covered by the CBA. Stuff like drug suspensions is though.

Because you weren't alive when it happened nor were the vast majority of the people who post on this board.
SD LOL.
I bet the Cowboys enjoyed watching them in the playoffs.

You're joking right? Tons of places of employment this happens. Any place where public image matters.

I don't understand why you can't lower your helmet to hit QB's. Stupid pansy NFL. That said I don't think you can make that tackle without lowering slightly.

wtf is he supposed to do there? If he doesn't lower his helmet on that hit he goes in helmet to helmet.
