Why any football player would even take a dime less than his market value is a mystery to me. This is the sport where, other than the explicitly guaranteed money line, the contracts might as well be written in crayon. It's also the sport where you could end up drooling all over yourself in old age because your brain resembles a plate of spaghetti.
It's a nice gesture and certainly good for his PR/personal brand or whatever, but how many Super Bowls has Brady won since letting the Patriots keep some of his money? Are agents not explaining this shit to these players?
