I am offended by continuously pretending that my silly comments are serious arguments that you should refute.I am offended by that post. My grandfather was a straw man and I think you are mocking him.

It's conditional based on his playing time on the field, and we get your 7th.Its so bad that Dallas traded for a retired ILB who didn't see the field last year. Thanks for the sixth rounder though Jerry.
Which we'll get back as compensatory so we basically traded a troubled player who's been literally worthless for a sixth. Good luck with him though. Maybe he won't get arrested anymore. It's conditional based on his playing time on the field, and we get your 7th.
You arent getting a compensatory pick for losing McClain so that has nothing to do with the trade, he has to play for the picks to be swapped, so essentially he has to be at least decent in order for you to get our 6th for your 7th and if thats the case its a good trade for us.Which we'll get back as compensatory so we basically traded a troubled player who's been literally worthless for a sixth. I don't think you know how compensatory picks workWhich we'll get back as compensatory so we basically traded a troubled player who's been literally worthless for a sixth. Good luck with him though. Maybe he won't get arrested anymore.
Anything with an NFL jersey will do for me at this point. But real football doesn't start until Sept. 4th.
We won't get it back for him specifically but its essentially upgrading that pick to a sixth and we won't really lose anything in the long run since we get lots of compensatory picks every year. Its basically a free upgrade since we weren't going to use the player anyway.I don't think you know how compensatory picks work

What those guys said. The basic philosophy of compensatory picks is that franchises that lost more free agents than they signed in the previous year will be awarded draft selections to make up for the losses, according to previously released documents from NFL.com.
Rolando McClain trade could cost Dallas Cowboys nothing - ESPN DallasWe won't get it back for him specifically but its essentially upgrading that pick to a sixth and we won't really lose anything in the long run since we get lots of compensatory picks every year. Which always happens, we regularly max out our comp picks and regularly are in the top of the league in receiving them. We sent off three starters right off the top of my head and I'm probably forgetting someone so we are probably in line for three or four again. So while not specifically for Rolando, the pick will be replaced, which leaves a potential free sixth rounder for dealing this guy who we wouldn't even place in camp. Sure he might not play but why the hell would Jerry deal for him otherwise? Isn't it because you're thin at ILB especially with Lee out? So it either costs you nothing and costs us almost nothing to finally get rid of him, or it gives us a freebie for a guy we expected nothing from in the first place. Who knows he might play well in Dallas. My original point was more that this is how the ILB market is right now where trades are going down for a guy who's been in limbo for over a calendar year.*ahem*
What those guys said.
