Ravens stadium is in Baltimore.Would be interested to see a map/information about nfl stadium locations. Do any other teams have their stadium out in a shit hole of a location like the Redskins do?
I hate going to Redskins games, haven't been since 2010. My wife and I happily drive 4 hours to Virginia Tech over and over again to watch live football rather than take a 40 minute train ride to that shithole in Landover. Better crowd, atmosphere, surrounding area, everything.Would be interested to see a map/information about nfl stadium locations. And short walking distance off the light rail. Redskins are outside of the city yet incredibly inconvenient to attend.Ravens stadium is in Baltimore.
I was reading somewhere that NFL teams are largely considering moving out of cities and into affluent suburbs since that is the majority of their ticket holders. Apparently Atlanta was thinking similar. They did a study and found that their majority of ticket holders had to drive like 40 minutes to get to the stadium since it was south-central and their patrons were affluent people who lived north of the city.Candlestick was in a shit hole location. By far the worst neighborhood in SF. I mean, it's not much better now due to inconvenience, but at least it's in a "nice" area now.
Both Arrowhead(Chiefs) and Kauffman Stadium(Royals) are just situated in the middle of a massive parking-lot complex, right off the highway out in a low-income suburb of KC(Independence, MO, affectionately known off and on as the Meth capitol of Missouri, if not the whole US). There is absolutely NOTHING around them except 1 gas station, 1 run-down Dennys, and 2 hotels(on the other side of the highway, so you can't really even walk to the stadiums easily from the hotel). No bars, no restaurants, no entertainment of any kind.Would be interested to see a map/information about nfl stadium locations. The joke here being that all of Baltimore is a shit hole. I thought it was funny. And short walking distance off the light rail. Redskins are outside of the city yet incredibly inconvenient to attend.
Yes I got it. But 'skins game are notoriously awful logistically. Ravens/Orioles games are reasonably convenient all things considered. Not really fun post-game if you're tailgating but there's probably no stadium out there that is fun to drive out of the lots. You can at least hit some bars and stuff if you want to, its not in a super terrible part of town although Baltimore is reasonably trashy no matter what. The joke here being that all of Baltimore is a shit hole. I went to a couple Reds games last summer and I was blown away at the progress made in that area. There are a TON of spots to eat and drink now. They've made the Cincinnati stadium pretty nice recently. It used to be somewhat far away from most things but they added a huge restaurant/condo complex called The Banks there. So you can easily get a beer and some food prior to the game then take the 10 minute walk to the stadium. It is right in between the Bengals stadium and Reds stadium. It is a pretty nice experience.
I may enjoy baseball games more if I got hammered beforehand.I went to a couple Reds games last summer and I was blown away at the progress made in that area. There are a TON of spots to eat and drink now.
O.Co (A's and Raiders) along with Oracle (Warriors) look really similar to the KC setup. It's in the middle of an industrial wasteland with just a parking lot. Why don't people tailgate for baseball games? We always tailgate for A's games.
Why would you not beeline it for the arena from BART? The bridge from the station literally goes directly to the stadiums. You hanging out at Doug's beforehand?Problem with going to Oracle was that I felt like I was going to get shot if I didn't walk a straight line from BART to the stadium.
