Would be interested to see a map/information about nfl stadium locations. Do any other teams have their stadium out in a shit hole of a location like the Redskins do?

Candlestick was in a shit hole location. By far the worst neighborhood in SF. I mean, it's not much better now due to inconvenience, but at least it's in a "nice" area now.

I hate going to Redskins games, haven't been since 2010. My wife and I happily drive 4 hours to Virginia Tech over and over again to watch live football rather than take a 40 minute train ride to that shithole in Landover. Better crowd, atmosphere, surrounding area, everything.

It's far worse than just the location. The stadium itself, and the gameday experience, is a piece of shit. It's not physically falling apart or anything like the toilet in San Diego, but just an insanely expensive, lame ass place to watch a football game.

Snyder, perhaps to his credit for once, would probably agree to demolish RFK and put the team back in DC in a second. The one party rule in the District, however, will probably not have him back until the team name changes. And he definitely won't get any public funding without changing it.

I was reading somewhere that NFL teams are largely considering moving out of cities and into affluent suburbs since that is the majority of their ticket holders. Apparently Atlanta was thinking similar. They did a study and found that their majority of ticket holders had to drive like 40 minutes to get to the stadium since it was south-central and their patrons were affluent people who lived north of the city.

Both Arrowhead(Chiefs) and Kauffman Stadium(Royals) are just situated in the middle of a massive parking-lot complex, right off the highway out in a low-income suburb of KC(Independence, MO, affectionately known off and on as the Meth capitol of Missouri, if not the whole US). There is absolutely NOTHING around them except 1 gas station, 1 run-down Dennys, and 2 hotels(on the other side of the highway, so you can't really even walk to the stadiums easily from the hotel). No bars, no restaurants, no entertainment of any kind.

Its not really a big deal for Chiefs games, as everyone just brings the party with them and tailgates, but it absolutely sucks for Baseball games. You just drive to the stadium, watch the game, drive home, theres nothing to do around them to keep anyone there longer than what the game lasts.

Both Pittsburgh Stadium are right off downtown on the riverside and offer lovely views of our gorgeous skyline. Beautiful waterfront walking areas and plenty of good eateries. Truly a mecca of sport's fandom.

Seriously though, PNC Park for the Pirates is amazing=P Heinz for the Steelers is in a good location visually but it's just not in the same league.

I've actually liked that aspect whenever I've been to Chiefs/Royals games. Biggest headache for me when going to an event is the traffic and it's so annoying driving through an already congested downtown in other cities to get to the field/arena. I'd rather have the stadiums isolated from other things, but I'm also not likely to want to do anything but head home afterwards anyway.

They've made the Cincinnati stadium pretty nice recently. It used to be somewhat far away from most things but they added a huge restaurant/condo complex called The Banks there. So you can easily get a beer and some food prior to the game then take the 10 minute walk to the stadium. It is right in between the Bengals stadium and Reds stadium. It is a pretty nice experience.

The joke here being that all of Baltimore is a shit hole. I thought it was funny.
Yes I got it. But 'skins game are notoriously awful logistically. Ravens/Orioles games are reasonably convenient all things considered. Not really fun post-game if you're tailgating but there's probably no stadium out there that is fun to drive out of the lots. You can at least hit some bars and stuff if you want to, its not in a super terrible part of town although Baltimore is reasonably trashy no matter what.

I went to a couple Reds games last summer and I was blown away at the progress made in that area. There are a TON of spots to eat and drink now.

O.Co (A's and Raiders) along with Oracle (Warriors) look really similar to the KC setup. It's in the middle of an industrial wasteland with just a parking lot. Why don't people tailgate for baseball games? We always tailgate for A's games.

And it has a BART station that stops right there as well.

Too bad the stadium is so run down.

Problem with going to Oracle was that I felt like I was going to get shot if I didn't walk a straight line from BART to the stadium.

I may enjoy baseball games more if I got hammered beforehand.

Why would you not beeline it for the arena from BART? The bridge from the station literally goes directly to the stadiums. You hanging out at Doug's beforehand?

That's my point. You feel like at any moment someone is going to start unloading shots on the people walking through the fenced-in walkway.

I like where Raymond James is in Tampa. Traffic is a bit of a pain in the ass but it is quite literally in the exact middle of the city. The hockey arena on the other hand is in downtown and is a pain in the ass to get to and find parking (for me at least, I refuse to pay).
