Honestly, if elite QBs could truly be paid what they are worth, your Rogers/Brady/Manning in their primes should make about $50 million a year compared to your elite $20m a year D-lineman or $10m a year WR/RBs.Its amazing how Watt is unquestionably the best defensive player in the NFL but since he's a DE he can only manage to get a few wins. But there are so many elite QBs who carry bad teams on their backs. Kind of goes to show just how important that position is compared to everything else on the field.
QBs effect the teams win/loss record at least 3-5x as much as any other single player, even if they are the best at their position in the league. Reggie White wasn't winning any Superbowls until he got onto a team with Brett Favre. Deion Sanders wasn't winning shit until he got out of Atlanta and starting whoring out to San Fran(Steve Young) & Dallas(aikman/Irvin/Emett trifecta)
An elite-level defensive player might mean 1 or 2 more wins per year(which is worth a LOT of money) but they aren't taking a 4-12 team and turning them into 12-4 and winning their division like an elite QB can.
