Whatever, dude.

Brady's pick 6 didn't count and neither did the last Colts touchdown so really the Pats won by 21.

Patriots are just playing at a little higher level right now than pretty much everyone else.

Not unbeatable by any means, but you have to bring your A+ game to beat them. With Scobee not sucking, things might have turned out differently week 1 vs them, same could be said for some gaffes the Colts made. But they didn't, and the Pats didn't make those same mistakes.

On a neutral field with our team healthy, I think we could definitely beat them. The blueprint for years beating Brady is being able to drop guys into coverage and get pressure up front with a base pass rush. The early years we tried blitzing him constantly which never worked, Brady is just too good finding holes vacated from blitzers and it wasnt until we started pressing their wrs and making him hold the ball did we start having success. The Jets in the Ryan years when their defense was lights out showed how to get Brady off his game. Most defenses though dont have corners like Revis and Cromartie to play press man and lock guys down 1 on 1 where you can then double Gronk and make him hold the ball till the front guys get home. Taking the Pats hating glasses off, what has most impressed me over the years is how good they were at protecting him, even against teams that had very good success blitzing.

That said, a team that can get into a shootout with them like the Packers I think could definitely beat them as well. I'd also say the Bengals but that game would end up in prime time, so no dice. Im also interested to see how the Jets with a much better offense than years past does vs them next week.

The Pats will lose like everyone does in the modern era but they won't lose often. Probably 14-2 and SB bound unless Dalton is locked away the last few weeks of the season and doesn't know it's the playoffs. Still the favorites to probably win it all outside of maybe GB. Not much elite out there this year.

The new defense leaving Gronk uncovered was actually the real mistake in that game. Scobee sucked for sure and those 6 points would have been nice but that doesn't give the other team as much momentum as just literally not blocking Gronk and letting him walk in the end zone.

I think the JETS have a good shot this week of beating them. They are kind of on fire right now.

Just for the record, I would like to formally apologize to the country of England for the upcoming Lions vs Chiefs game in 2 weeks. I'm sorry you only get a couple games each year, and that has to be one of them.

I wouldn't walk across the street to watch that calamity, much less fly across the Atlantic to see it.

It just doesn't compute. He is top 10 in almost all of the stats that matter but our team just sucks so bad and the O-line allows the D to pressure him way too much.

You put Felipe Rios on a real team .....

He threw for 500 yards tonight! The closest two QB's were 100 yards from that. The average this week was about 250 yards. It is just mind bottling.
500 yards but still only came away with 20 points. That is a pretty good indication of a guy who just can't figure out how to close the deal. If they can figure out how to capitalize on that kind of throwing yards they could be pretty serious contenters in a year.

Exactly, remember that year Stafford threw for over 5000 yards.. ya that tells you all you need to know about how bad that metric is.

Yes and their TE's dropped two passes that would have been a TD. Its not always on him.

Jets can beat them.... but not in Foxboro. Jets will win next time they play I think however. Pats are96-15at home during the regular season in the Brady Era. (14-3 at home in the playoffs) A few of those 15 losses came at the end of the season when the Pats had locked up the division and playoff seeding.

This is one of the better Pats teams ever. These Jets arent winning in Foxboro.

Its a good Jets team and the game is for the lead in the division so its a pretty big game but doesn't seem to be getting a very high billing for some reason. I think that Jets team is quietly one of the top 5 teams in the AFC.

That defense is outstanding, and Ivory has been incredible. Fitzmagic isn't the answer at QB but when you can just feed Brandon Marshall and let him do work, it's not that difficult to keep defenses honest.

That Eagles game was terrible, but outside of that they've been very good.

By this same logic, the mighty Pats have beaten:

Steelers
Bills
Jags
Colts
Cowboys (with everyone hurt)

Like you said. Some real powerhouses.

the brady interception happened due to edelman's hand being hurt and he was trying to use his body not his hands (his other drops as well) and couldn't handle the throw-hope that is not serious.

were the colts "in it"? imo not really. they played well for...a half.

at no time did i think the colts would win the game.

now onto the jets, imo good team, if the pats can play their short/middle gamewell, they will win again.

also it is not how you play "now" it is how well you play in december-Feb. remember both giants teams pretty much sucked/were average during the regular season and got hot at the end of the season/playoffs.

When you take a look at their remaining games, it is very friendly schedule:

Oct 25 @NE
Nov 1 @OAK
Nov 8 JAX
Nov 12 BUF
Nov 22 @HOU
Nov 29 MIA
Dec 6 @NYG
Dec 13 TEN
Dec 19 @DAL
Dec 27 NE
Jan 3 @BUF

They have got tough games against Patriots obviously, the Giants and the Cowboys (assuming Romo is healthy by then). Bills games ought to be interesting considering the Rex Ryan connection.

I could see them go 10-6 or 11-5.

Yup. The difference is the Pats have been relevant in almost every single postseason and or Super bowl this decade where as the jets have been the jets. Not to say they can't be the pats, I just don't believe they come out on top of that contest through the year.

Seems like the bottom half of the league expanded a little this year and there are more teams heading towards the horse race to just over .500. I don't have stats to back that up just feels that way to me. Seems like more mediocrity for some reason than usual. Even some of the undefeated teams look very mortal and weak in a lot of ways.

GB and the Pats stand out as obvious outliers to this point.

Yes its not all on him but as a team they need to figure out what the hell they are doing in the red zone.
Hats off to Rivers and the Chargers, they played an amazing game and probably deserved to win it as much as we did. That game had all the makings of a classic McCarthy brain fart. Chargers had us in their sights and caught us napping during the mid season. They were getting away with tons of holding, but when a team has line injuries out the ass the refs tend to be more lenient on that. Raji was out, too. Really, the Chargers have always played us tough in general and our Defense had a bad day. They were about two drops away from sending that game into OT, though they also made some amazing plays to get it to that point. I will also be the first to admit that that the early pass from the 10 should have been flagged for Grounding and we got a gift there. A lot of laundry being tossed around that whole game on both sides, really.

I understand that McFatty is going super vanilla to keep other playoff teams from getting good tape on us, but he is notorious for dropping easy games so it makes me VERY nervous as a Packer fan when we have games like this. The bye is coming at a very favorable time for us, to be sure. The game in Denver in a couple weeks is going to tell us a lot about how elite GB actually is this season, or if they are just another team beating up on sub par competition who gets exposed when they play a defense that is actually worth a shit (hi2u Falcons). Both teams are kind of in the same boat and while I feel GB is superior, if Rodgers does not assert himself over the Denver D early and often, we likely lose that game due to it being an away game and him not being able to milk the other team for 2-3 offsides calls a game.

PS- +1 to the above point about the excessive mediocrity in the league this season. I think its a combination of the poor QB prospects the last few years and the overall poor line play across the league. If you don't have a top tier QB, you just are not in the discussion this year. While some teams get softball schedules, really with everyone either banged up or sucking, its really hard to take any sort of strength of schedule argument seriously.
