Looking at the Niners schedule, nine wins seems like the absolute ceiling and its probably more like under eight realistically. Looking at Philly's, 8-8 seems just about right.

Looking at Philly's schedule, I cant find those 8 wins lol. I see them as 6-10 but still better than the 9ers by a game or two.

I think people overestimate the NFCE, I can see the Eagles potentially splitting their division games and/or sweeping one of those teams.

Meh, division games can go either way, even when teams are shit. I think this mostly holds true across the league. Win #4 for Dallas was against Washington, the only one they managed without Romo starting. Their 1st win is almost a perfect example of the crazy shit that happens in division games.

Looking over headlines this morning and the hyperbole is off the charts already.

I hope Desean Jackson doesn't go fucking crazy and gift any wins to NFCE teams this year.

We lose a shocking amount of games to the Browns. I somewhat agree with Moontayle when I see a team drop a game to a division opponent who is objectively inferior I don't read too heavily into it. Division games always seem like more of a crapshoot than others.

Yeah you're right. I think the Bengals actually have a better record against the Ravens in the past three years than the Browns. I don't think the Ravens have won a game against the Bengals since 2013.

I also say I don't think the gap between objectively inferior teams and good teams is even that big. Its the NFL its still the best of the best out there. Lets say the better team has an 80% chance of winning (that seems astronomically high btw) that means to win twice you only have a 64% chance of winning both those games. More accurately its probably more like 70% which puts winning both games at about a 50/50 shot.

Yeah I said absolute ceiling, not that it was a likely outcome. Five sounds like a good bet for the Niners I'd say, but you never know. Some of those teams could be utter shit. Rams, Jets, Bills, Buccs, Bears and to a degree the Dolphins all seem pretty flawed enough for lesser teams to steal some wins.

This is Philly so they will lose to an average team this year. Browns, Bears, Lions, Falcons. They win 3 of 4 let's say. One game each against division opponents just because it's divisional games even though I see one divisional team sweeping them this year. I dont see them beating Packers, Steelers, Hawks, Ravens, Vikes, or Bengals. The one good team they beat? A divisional opponent or someone who has injuries like the Ravens last year. 7-9 is pushing it IMO. They are the worst team in the east on paper. I think they will be the worst team in the east in reality as well.

This is why in predictions, most people say a team will split the division. The only exception is when you get a team like the Patriots who consistently play in a weak division and are always in the playoffs. Even then, usually 4-2 at best.

personally, looking at the patriot's schedule, without seeing how any teams are playing, i am thinking no worse than 12-4 overall record, most likely 13-3.

3-1 first four games is my guess...
