I was going to say I was surprised that no-one would trade for him, $16mil is a little steep but not terrible with current QB contracts + salary cap inflation.

But if I were a GM I guess even if I wanted RG3 I'd probably roll the dice and assume he'd get cut rather than taking on that salary, so I guess I'm really not surprised after all. I'm rooting for the Rams to go full-troll by signing him.

Not a team in the league would want to pay him $16m I would think. I know Skins were seeing if he would restructure that deal in order to trade him for something, but guess nothing materialized for that.

RGIII is probably going to be a backup somewhere or at best competing for a starting spot on a shitty team.

16 mill would be insane for anyone but maybe the Browns.

I still think some team should pick up Manziel, Griffen, and Kaepernick and let them fight it out in training camp. Cleveland would be a prime candidate.

The Erin Andrews trial happened and the hero went to jail, this is a suit against the hotel chain.
Haha I had a girl want to stop dating me because I posted a facebook status about that video saying "This Erin Andrews story has me wondering about priorities in America. It is disgusting how low quality our micro cameras are these days."

I feel like I dodged a tumblr bullet

It's the right move I think. If there was some obviously better option available I would say go for it but just like a lot of other QBs in the NFL, he seems overpaid until you look at who you could replace him with that's better.

Saw an article that talked about how the Seahawks had changed the way they tackle and taught tackling. Basically, target the center of gravity, lead with your shoulder, and wrap your arms. I mean, basic stuff when you think about it. Players were saying they had to learn how to do that because no one ever taught them before. Last few years Seattle has been pretty good at defensive YAC so that's a good side benefit.
This is how they're teaching tackling now for the high school team my son plays for. I'm more familiar with the heads up technique USA football has been pushing, but my friend coaches JV and asked me to help with defensive backs next year. He had me look up and watch the Seahawks tackling technique and it does make a lot of sense.

Kaepernick talk is just Baalke keeping his options open. There is literally nothing for him to gain by saying anything other than what he did about the situation.

I still think the plan is to move on from him but they'd rather give him a shot in Kelly's system instead of outright cutting him. His cap number isn't debilitating and the Niners have plenty of cap space. If a trade partner materializes however he is probably gone, but that won't happen until he passes a physical.

Yeah, if you could trade him for something valuable then I wouldn't hesitate to let him go, but if you're just going to release him and then sign some other washed up free agent or blow a first round pick on somebody that is not especially likely to make a starter, let alone a star then you might as well just keep him. I don't think anything that they do this year is going to result in the quarterback of the future so I would prefer to just roll with Kaepernick for another year and focus on the O-line and Defense in the draft and hopefully next year they can look for a better option at QB and have a more credible team for him to play with.

The real offseason winner:

Kirk Cousins on Twitter:
Worst board game all time? Of course Cousins would be in to the Board Game where you can suck and still win

LOL, Chip Kelly at the combine:

Chip Kelly spoke to beat writers and sounded eager to work with Kaepernick: "Our job is acquiring talent, not getting rid of talent." #49ers

On the one hand, I'm sure Kaepernick sees that the Niners are a fucking mess and doesn't want to play there.

On the other, it's his only shot at starting in the NFL right now.

Unless he just thinks he's a much better QB than everyone else.

Does Kaep really think someone wants to give away draft picks for the privilege of overpaying him?
