I think in his case, it was beneficial. Overall, I don't know.

I can't wait to see him in preseason. It's going to be hilarious if he puts a good game together and people start calling for him to start

Thats basically every team without a set-in-stone starter. The backup plays a great 3rd/4th against 6th string players and suddenly he's the future HoFer.

Backup QB is the most popular guy in town, offensive coordinator is the least popular guy in town.

They were in the best position in a long time to go down and get a QB. I'm glad they did it. There are a lot of QB's getting old in this league and I don't want to get into a bidding war in the next few years trying to move back down for some spread offense QB that will still be a 50/50 chance just like Wentz.
To get into that position they had to trade away two players they had just gotten last year to get from 13 to 8 and their #1 next year plus other picks to get from 8 to 2. You don't want to admit it but they bet the farm on Wentz and this is a team that has one position of strength (D-line) and that incoming Fletcher Cox contract is going to hurt. Especially since ifthisis accurate, they don't have a lot of wiggle room.

Nobody in Philly is feeling the loss to those 2 players. I actually think most of us feel like at least they finally produced something for what they were being paid. It allows us to be in the position to make that deal. That is much better than over paying them for another year when you have a QB who is most likely never going to deliver a SB to this city. They made the right decision by going after a QB. Everything else is TBD, Plus Sam is a team option next year which could net us something if he plays well enough.

we won't know what we have for prob another 3 years.. Besides, next years QB will belong to you guys. You'll be moving up after you realize Romo is done. :)

That's not the Jones way (tm). If romo breaks his everything next year, the story from the ranch will be that he likes what he's seen in the young guys (not even sure what young QBs we have now other than the one we just drafted). Jones sucks at drafting QBs and thankfully I think he realizes that now.

Whats funny to me, is I think the bronco's walked away with the qb that will last in the league.

EDIT what made it even better was they jumped the cowboys to do it

Osweiler sucked worse than Manning. The Broncos were right to not eat that giant, bloated contract. Dude is nothing.

-edit-

You said "with." So now I agree. I'm keeping the post because I still hate Osweiler. So much I'm not even going to look up if that is the right way of spelling it.

Seattle got greedy. If they had stuck with the offered deal, the 2nd and a 4th, then it would have been Dallas grabbing Lynch. Once they countered with wanting both 2nd day picks, Stephen nixed the deal and they moved on. They arguably came out better for the deal falling through, since if Smith recovers he's going to be a beast. Not much worse a gamble than grabbing a QB when it's all said and done.

Denver didn't gamble tho. They got the best QB in the draft.
Let's talk more about this. Since we didn't already establish anyone who says they know how a QB will preform in the pros is full of shit. Why is he the best QB in the draft??

Obviously philly got the senior bowl mvp best qb in the draft. If I was a betting man I'd say they got the best guard, rb, tackle, cb, s, de and mlb in the draft too.

for all the reasons wentz and goff won't. Tossed to he wolves let us say, while he will be trained to be a qb.

So you're full of shit. Wentz is gonna redshirt his first year.

Never said that Slaythe. Think we did ok in draft but won't really know till we see how Wentz does. Which there is no way to know. My whole fucking point.
