It's a dumb stat because it's more about how long someone was a coach than anything else. For instance, Don Shula has the most wins while also having the 3rd most losses and Tom Landry is 3rd in wins and 2nd in losses.

Yeah, Dan Reeves, Jeff Fisher, and Chuck Nox are the only guys in the top 10 for losses that don't have a championship ring(although Reeves went to the Super Bowl 4 times and lost all 4. Fisher has been once and lost.)

Generally speaking, very few guys have long careers if they are bad coaches. It's actual good coaches at the top of that list. Fisher is decent.
He's like the Alex Smith of coaches. Just right about average in the league. Theres' always about 15 better and 15 worse at any given time, so the teams that employ them can always say to themselves "well, half the teams in the league are worse off, at least we aren't them" even though Fisher/Smith are never going to get you sustained, elite success, they're also never a trainwreck
