I can proudly say that I have yet to watch a single second of any of the pre-season games

Dak did look good. But anything in preseason is meh. Most D's don't game plan and they play vanilla with no disguising of coverages.

Look man, if romo goes down this season, and the rest of our games can be more pre-season games ... we're good to go. If anyone can swing that second part, it JJ & Son.

More reason for me to not give a shit about the HOF anymore. Pat Bowlen got snubbed.

Bowlen has been an owner for 5 more seasons than Jones.
Has 82 more regular season victories and 7 more playoff victories.

Both have 3 Super Bowl victories.

Broncos have had 5 losing seasons in his tenure.
Cowboys have had 9 (in 5 less seasons).

Meh.

I'd argue that Jones is WAY more influential on the NFL though. I mean, the fact that he got a finalist nod before Bowlen kind of proves the point.

Jerry wasn't just an owner, he was GM/Owner. Bowlen is going in, Haley finally being let in restored my faith in the HOF.

Yea and you could argue the Cowgirls were worse off for it.

Unsurprising to anyone, Dallas hasnt done shit since Jerrys SB teams that were bought and paid for before the salary cap was put in place (put in place almost solely due to the Cowboys and 49ers spending frenzy). When you look at it post salary cap era Bowlen is about 1000x even more deserving than Jerryworld.

They drafted those teams, Haley and Sanders were the spending frenzy. Don't forget part of the 49ers spending spree included stealing Norton from Dallas like we did Haley and Sanders.

We are worse off for Jerry being GM, no doubt. Jimmy knew how to draft and Jerry knew how to wheel and deal, they were a great combo that Jerry fucked up due to an over inflated ego.

Also LOfuckingL dissing the cowboys and 49ers about the salary cap and then praising the guy who was caught twice cheating the salary cap to win 2 of those SB. Just giving you hell Gen, that probably just slipped your mind.

He isn't being considered for team performance (though that will be pointed out). He is being considered because he is one of the most important owners in NFL history. He is largely responsible for the NFL being as successful as it is today. He completely revolutionized the NFL's revenue making model (merchandise, sponsorships, and, most importantly, TV deals).

I only really care about post salary cap success, Broncos included. The dynasties of the 70s and 80s, and early 90s teams could never exist post cap, Steelers of the 70s included. Its pretty much two eras in my eyes, and the NFL was *much* better off for it.

I think if Jimmy had control of that team and Jerry was in the background just writing checks, the Cowboys would have remained a good football team, and Jimmy is the one I attribute that success to (he was a great coach). Ffs, Jerry still wanted to remove the cap even in recent years so he could be the football Yankees, but fuck that, its what makes the sport so great.
