I mean, technically, they could get TD and FG and only have to convert to tie at 11, while now they are mathematically required to get two TDs to not lose.

Still requires a 2 point conversion. Shouldn't make a difference if they go for it on the first or second TD, outside of complaining about it with the benefit of hindsight.

Not at all, b/c it only is required if they give up 7. If they just kick the initial XP to make it 17-13, even giving up a FG makes it 20-13 and you just need TD+XP. If they score a TD, it's 24-13 and THEN you would do the 2 when it makes the most sense to to try to tie in 2 possessions that don't have to be 2 TD's.

Or they make the 2 point and just need a FG. A lot simpler that way and trying to predict scenarios like you came up with is a little out there

This assumes we shut you out the rest of the way. Which is completely unlikely, and Gruden seems to agree with it trying that onside kick.
