Single games, I agree. I understand how the lines work, And overall I agree the aim is to get the money on both sides of the bet then move the line. This line has not moved. It's been at 7.5 and this doesn't seem like a good spot to split the money. I mean, just look at the people here and their predictions for the Skins this year, I bet the majority of the people would take the over? Hell, Is there anyone in this forum that would take the under at 7.5 games? Something just seems really sneaky with that line to me. On the surface it looks too good to be true because anyone following the league would expect them to win 8+ games. thus my sucker bet comment. Vegas knows all!

I get what you're saying and would agree most people would probably take the over so Vegas probably doesn't believe in the Skins. I gotta admit, it would be hard to take that under and feel good about it, so Vegas probably is right :/

Convo once again proving he's a barely functioning retard.

You probably should've just let it go after your first comment.

Yes, that you think there are a bunch of Vegas insiders that I guess are rigging the NFL or something. That's what it sounds like you're saying.

Otherwise, as several people have explained, Vegas sets the lines so that they get even money on both sides. They make their money by people placing bets, not by hoping they pay out one side over the other. They want even money so they take in what they pay out, and pocket the fees.

All a 7.5 line means is that the bets coming in are floating around that number. If a ton of people thought the Redskins would do better than 8 wins, the line would move.

wtf? I never said anything about rigging.

Dick understood my point, so i'll just leave it at that. But Vegas is trying to tell you something. Get ready;-)

I mean, I don't think anyone really believed he'd be back by Game 5 or whatever.

Sure they did, because that's what the official word was. AFAIK, no one posting here is a DR who has examined Romo, so all we have to go on is what we're fed. Frankly anyone who "knew" he was going to be 8 weeks based on the info we had last week needs to PM me tonight's winning lottery numbers.

no, their job is to create lines like that to sucker a bunch of people who will run with the over. on the surface, that looks like a safe bet, one would think? That's why it's a sucker bet. The people who set those lines really know wtf they are doing.

lol fucking retard. It's already been explained to you so I won't bother restating it. I just wanted to call you a retard again.

I dunno if eliminating the preseason is the way to go, but fuck having 4 games. This last game is always a complete waste of time.

The last pre-season game is actually my favorite. It's kinda like watching a high school game. Buncha hungry guys looking for a job. Don't know more than a couple of the guys playing, they have varying degrees of ability and sometimes you get a pretty good performance from someone. For instance in the cowboy game last night, some texan named hunt had some nice runs. The announcers said he ran like smoke through a keyhole, and he did, it was beautiful to watch him slip through a tiny hole untouched. The guy probably can't do it against a real NFL defense, but it was nice to watch.

I don't understand what you're saying. You say it's not about rigging, but what the fuck do Vegas odds have to do with actual performance in the future?

Basically convo is saying that he thinks vegas oddsmakers are just really really good at predicting sporting events. He thinks that's how casinos are built, by people being good at gambling. Also, blackjack dealers get their jobs by being really good at blackjack, that's why they beat everyone.

Vegas oddsmakers are actually good at that. They set a very low line in regards to the skins. You'd expect smart money to move the line up but it hasn't. It's sat there at 7.5. I would have expected something closer to 9 for them. So I'm going on record that skins win less than 8 games this season!

I want to support you now before you implode during the season when you realize your team is junk.

Prediction-Eagles will have best D in the NFCE.

Maybe they'll have the defense play both ways!

Haha!

Our corners can probably catch better than our WRs! I was already dreading the dink and dunk style of passing I expected this year but after watching all the dropped passes in pre-season, I think that's going to be the most efficient part of our offense. Ugh.

"After Bishop Sankey and Justin Hunter were released today, the Titans no longer have any of their 2012-15 second-round picks. Zach Brown (2012) left in free agency and Dorial Green-Beckham (2015) was traded to the Eagles."

Yikes

jeez, I was just reading that. Someone will grab those 2. Hunter has all the ability in the world. Wouldn't shock me if Eagles went for him.

Yea, both Matthews are good. If they can stay healthy. I can't really figure out Jordan Matthew's ceiling tho. Part of what made Chip so bad was his ability to call plays that didn't suit the personal, it really disrupted guys like him..

So far, Peterson has been decent with that. I was really impressed with his play calling in the 3rd pre season game, he took a guy like Josh Huff(who's been inconsistent to be kind) and designed some really good plays to showcase his skill set.

Rob Ninkovich says he’s been suspended four games

“Few things are more important to me than my name and reputation. This might call that into question for some, which has me heartbroken,” Ninkovich said. “I don’t want to cut any corners. I want to do things the right way, with high integrity, and that’s what I have always wanted to stand for. … Any supplement I’ve ever used was bought at a store. I was unaware something I bought had a substance in it that would give me a positive test because it wasn’t listed [as an ingredient] … One thing I have learned is that if a supplement is not NSF certified there are no regulations that ensure that what is on the label is 100 percent accurate. That is a hard lesson for me to learn at this stage in my career, but I take responsibility for it. It’s a mistake I made and it hurts that I won’t be there for my teammates.”

We totally believe you Rob.

I'll need your definition of a "lucky year". If he stays healthy this year, I'll be shocked if his numbers aren't again in the vicinity of 4,000 yards, 25+ TD's, or better. D will likely be middling though, and we don't have much of a running game, so some of those stats might be helped by that.

I'll have to dig up the blog or website. But it was a guy who did an analysis of every snap QBs took. And essentially equated it to "Cousins" should've had many more picks.

Which is consistent to his career so far. Guy is a gunslinger, and not a great one. I think he is decent/slightly above-average. I just don't see the Skins being much, then again, as of a week ago this division has really nothing in it.

Listening to them talk about Tavon Austin like the guy would be anything more than a #2 on any other team short of the Eagles and then paying him like he's just below them would be more than enough cause for termination, holy fuck.
