Sure, it happens during the playoffs, because that's after the regular season, but it's supposed to be a regular season award.

Right but the votes aren't turned in before the first games are played, or used to anyways and the pundits would speculate that voters changed their votes because of an early exit. All of which Atlanta is completely capable of with no defense and the current lowest winning % QB in playoff history with at least 5 starts at .200.

Similar issue happen with redskins. We were predictable. When your QB is getting sacked on 2nd down like we were that game, your play calling it too predictable. Sad part is it probably has less to do with Wentz and more to do with our WRs who run a lot of the wrong routes.

This was the most likely scenario in my mind. So, not trolling, but what's up with that? Does your coach and OC suck, or are they keeping the playbook simple for the gingerbread rookie?

I just think we are a developmental team with rookies at key positions like coach.. It's all a process, but like I said, we have bad WR's. We were throwing down field more early this year and that just went no where due to drops, route running, separation and positioning by our WR's. We totally threw those plays out the window. I don't think it has anything to do with Wentz's ability, he has the whole playbook available to him, it's just what they are calling due to our limitations at skill positions. If anything, I expect more underneath shit, short slants, etc. They seem to be the stuff that moves our offense atm but I said it in the Skins loss, we were out coached and it happen again. It falls directly on coaches with the play calling.

Agholor and DGB went pretty high and had a lot of hype around them. Why do they suck so much?

I'm late to gloat at iggles fans, so i won't do that. But I have a question for anyone who watched the game. I noticed at least twice when a cowboy linebacker (wish I'd noticed who it was) seemed to be calling the play pre-snap. He was pointing somewhere, then they snapped it, and lo and behold the play went right there. I don't know what that means. Is it patriots level interecepting of playcalls type shit, are the eagles that fucking predictable, or is marinelli really preparing his guys so well that they know what's coming? I know at lower levels you can read the offensive line pre-snap and know what they're going to do, but I figured by the time guys got to the pros, they wouldn't be giving those tells anymore.

Anyway, I've been mostly off the internet for a couple weeks, so I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone else had noticed that or been talking about it.

Philly runs a ton of screen passes. It'seems something crazy like 20% of their passes are behind the line of scrimmage. When teams catch on you get big losses that kill drives like you saw in that game

Chip just missed on Agholor. No surprise there.. Had he not went in the 1st round, he'd be gone by now. I think DGB could become a good complementary WR if he plays next to a true #1. He really needs to get better with his timing tho.

our biggest loss was a critical one but was more of a missed assignment. Typically a safe play. I just hated the play call for where the game was and what we needed. We should have just ran there and kicked a FG or better, made the 1st down. Even after the loss, we still should have kicked the FG as we hit one farther out before the half. Just bonehead stuff. We had and lost a 10 point lead twice in the 4th quarter.

Losing Lane Johnson didn't help, it's not shocking that Wentz looked a lot better when he was playing. Like I said a page or two ago, this wasn't supposed to be a good team going into the season. Predictions were around 8-8, and they probably end up right around there. Defense is pretty good, offense is mediocre. Wentz has been a pleasant surprise given he wasn't supposed to play at all, but he's still a rookie. With a year of games for Wentz/Pederson and some help at receiver they could be pretty good next year.

Also should have used timeouts when it was 2nd and 20 on Dallas's last drive of regulation. Prescott is getting a free pass for his poor play because Philly went out of their way to lose that game

Jeremy Maclin was pretty good. So was Desean Jackson. Wonder what those guys are up to these days?

Less about being predictable I think and more just we established our pass rush early. Kerrigan ate your backup RT alive that game, and we managed to run it all over you guys (most surprising thing about that game). Agree on the WR's though, it's an issue going forward.

For the record, both the plays I was talking about were runs. One inside run, one outside run. IIRC, the outside run still made yardage.

They were playing the pass on 2nd a lot and were right, a lot. You're not giving your coaches enough credit for that Win. They were well prepared on both sides of the ball.
