Think they got confused. Ben was yelling the spike the ball play call, then , according to ben, the pass play was called from the sideline and he changed to the play called as they were setting up. Obviously it did not work, but they were going for the win Ben forced the play and it bit him in the ass.

Wasnt even an index card though it was a folded over piece of paper lol. God damn NFL, can't figure out what is a catch or not but apparently a folded piece of paper can tell you if there is space between the chains and the ball.
