i have no illusions that Garret would be fired mid-season, but I do believe a loss to the Eagles on Sunday would cement in Jerry's mind that Garret would need to be fired as soon as the season ended. Which is all I'm hoping for.

But who would he get? Who would Jerrah get that could turn this thing around?

You think Lincoln Riley would leave OU for Dallas? I wouldn't. Get Bill Cowher to come out of retirement?

When faced with utter shit teams, Jerry has hired Bill Parcels and Wade Phillips. So we know Jerry CAN make good head coaching hire decisions. They just don't last very long because as soon as someone that's good enough TO turn it around does so, Jerry wants a puppet in place to make sure only Jerry takes the glory if the turn-around pays off. Which it never will as long as Jerry is running things. But I at least like to see the Cowboys in the playoffs rather than not for a few years in between our long stretches of ineptitude.

So who would they get? Someone that wanted to be one of 32 people on the entire planet to coach an NFL franchise. No one thought we would get a Bill Parcels either.

It's the NFL, it's the Cowboys. Seriously doubt there is anyway Riley would turn down that. OU isn't shit compared a huge NFL gig like this.

At OU he could pull in some of the best talent from High Schools all over the country. He is paid about 5 million a year, plus all the other incentives of being in the top college program. Players WANT to come to OU to play under Riley, especially offensive talent.

Jason Garrett makes 6 million a year, lives year to year with the threat of being fired, has to take second seat to a GM that has made mistake after mistake for talent signings over the last couple of decades.

If being a NFL head coach is so great, why don't the best college coaches constantly jump ship for the NFL? most newer NFL coaches are NFL assistants not NCAA head coaches.

And when the big name coach does leave college, it usually ends badly... Look at Chip Kelly. 4 years in the NFL with 2 teams and is now back as a head coach in college.

Hell look at Nick Saban... 5 years in the NFL (not all head coaching) 15-17 record and back coaching in the NCAA, and dominating there

On Dan Patrick they are talking about which team would be more desirable coaching job right now, Browns or the Cowboys, most were picking the Browns. Sounds like lots of coaches will be lining up for the Browns job.

There is a huge difference between the Cowboys and Browns right now. The QB situation, the Defense is getting better.

Don't forget the GM for the Browns, he helped build what the Chiefs are now. He is a good football evaluator

Ya, I'd pick the Browns over Cowboys just for Baker instead of Dak.

I'd be completely ok with someone like Kris Richard as HC, and then Kliff Kingsbury as OC. Defense has been fine, the evaluation of the personnel (thanks to Richard) is dramatically better: the Byron Jones move, more blitzing, the better assignment of CBs, the better play of safeties.

This coaching staff is just stuck in the Stone age they truly believe if they "execute" they can successfully do what they want. So damn behind the 8-ball.

Jerry is still delusional, as evidence by his call in to local sports station here in DFW. But he's frustrated. I hope he's ready for about 4 or 5 more losses in short order!

And in short there should be zero debate about what coaching job would be WAY more heralded. It should be the Cowboys job and it shouldn't be close - but thanks to having to work with Jerry Jones hovering over you, alas the fucking Browns job is probably the safer pick.

And theres the rub and you nailed it.

There would be very few coaches wanting to deal with JJ and the ensuing circus. Sean McVay would never have been given the freedom in Dallas to do what he's done in LA, its the complete opposite.

Browns personnel wise are in my better shape, their big negative is their owner. I think that will keep people away. The Cowboys have the same negative but have the supposed bonus of their prestige.

Step 1 to fixing the Cowboys is to stop calling yourselves America's team. America likes winners. You faggots have done nothing for 2 decades.

Can't believe Zeke's last carry came with 20 minutes left in that game last night. I hope he never fires anyone on that current Cowboys staff.

They need to build the team around Zeke, and mimic the Lynch Seahawks. He is the star of that team.
