Well, the salary thing is one of the reason I think a lot of people didn't like the trade. They have to pay Cooper what he wants in the offseason or else it's truly a wasted pick. Given shit like Sammy Watkin's deal, that's probably going to be 16M+ a year (or at least in that neighborhood) and for at least four years I'd bet. That's a lot of money. Getting a WR on a rookie deal is probably 50 million less over those four years but, as you said, it's riskier. If Cooper continues to play like this, I think it works out even with the financial strain (though one could make the argument it would have been better to keep the pick and get him in free agency, but then you don't get the tryout to see if he really fits in or not).

Cooper's current contract doesn't run out until the 2020 offseason. Cowboys wouldn't have been able to get him in free agency until then.

Steelers lose for the 3rd week in a row to the worst team in the NFL in hilarious fashion, get Amari Coopered and lose both fantasy playoff matchups, and my favorite player of all time might have his leg amputated or just plain die in the hospital. Good week.

Eagles have been dogshit this year but that game yesterday was the worst officiating I've ever seen. How do you get away with these?

Cowboys Maintain Ball On Controversial Kickoff
Best Video of opening Fumble I can find is on the Dallas site lol!

Also the Goedert penalty:

I can understand losing because Eagles can't convert on 3rd down, miss a PAT, have half the time of possession as Dallas, get gnashed by Elliot and Cooper... But apparently Prescott is so bad that even all that + the refs allowed the game go down to 1 min left in OT. Amazing.

Cowboys can clinch the division this weekend if they win or of the Redskins and Eagles lose. Insane that they can have a playoff spot locked up with 2 weeks left in the season after that blowout loss to the Titans put them at 3-5.

Also should point out that the Saints are the only team currently with a winning record that they've beat, and the Colts are the only team with a winning record they have still to play. The Seahawks and Texans are the only other teams the Cowboys have played that have a winning record.

I didn’t see that play until now. Oh wow. That is pretty bad for a PI call on offense. Hand fighting is part of the game. That was a really bad call.

Eagles scored a TD a few plays later anyways.

The Cowboys also had their share of BS calls against them in the game. 11 penalties 111 yards against Dallas vs 5 for 49 against Philly.

Ladies and gents...your NFC East!!!! I will say Dallas with their defense can absolutely make some noise if they get good Dak for a couple of games at the right time. My problem with them or Chicago is believing either can potentially beat the Rams and Saints back to back. If Chicago had home field would be a whole different story, though.

Good Dak has a lot to do with Amari Cooper.

If Cooper had not played a single game for the Raiders and started his season stats the day he was traded to the Cowboys, he would still be the Cowboy's season leading WR in receiving yards and TD's. And this is with every other WR having double the number of games played.

Also, since the trade, Cooper had lead the LEAGUE in yards, TD's, and first downs among all WR.

The man is a beast.

Sounds like there's a decent chance Tyreke Hill will miss the Thursday night game. Pretty big break for the chargers if so.

At the time, I thought the penalty was because he hit him helmet to helmet, and he just mistakenly called it PI. The announcers were talking about the DB having a right to stand his ground. Whatever, that was the first of like 3 plays in a row where the refs decided to make bad calls. The next play was that roughing the passer penalty where he gently eased the QB to the ground with the form tackle they want everyone to use these days. Can't remember what the call was on the next play, I only remember it wasn't as shitty as the previous 2.

Isn't it time to change the thread title to reflect that this is the year the cowboys are gunna win it all?

Cowboys will take the division and if their offense doesn't fall on its face might be a tough out in the playoffs.

Believe me, I love that my buddy traded him to me in my 10 man league...for Matt Breida.

One more comment about the Cowboys and their playoff hopes. They need to try and get the 3 seed or they are going to have a bad time.

3 seed they get the Vikings (Probably) and the Rams.
4 seed they get the Seahawks (Probably) and the Saints.

I know which seeding I would like to be in.

They can legit win either of the home games, but it would be a real upset if they won either road game, but yeah Saints in New Orleans is real bad.

Seahawks are as good as the Cowboys with a waaaaay better QB. I wouldn't be in a hurry to play them either.
