With all the catch/no catch rule drama I would not be surprised if they consider changing the rules so that a player has to end a touchdown with possession for it to count.

I disagree. Breaking the plane is much simpler than defining possession as the catch rule stuff showed. NFL would be smart to stick with simplicity.

I agree that the "breaking the plane" rule should stay, but plays like that Barkley TD don't really pass the eye/logic test to someone who isn't familiar with the rules. Of all the TDs I have seen that that are similar, this one seems to be ahead of all the others in that technically it is a TD but doesn't feel like it should be one.
