Yeah, unless they know for sure Drew Brees is leaving after this year, it doesn't make sense.

Plus, I'm sure Teddy isn't resigned to being a career backup yet, so I kind of doubt he'd want to stay in NO if Brees isn't retiring. It's a pretty odd choice for NO (even if his skillset is a match for the offense).

That 87m guaranteed is how much Big Bens contract is worth in total. Teams are crazy, Rams got played bigtime.

Better win it this year before Goff and everyone else need to get paid.

I have to be honest I think Donald is the one defensive player worth that much money. The issue for them comes whe Goff's rookie deal runs out since they handed out big extensions to Gurley and Cooks, as well. Couple all that with some of their O line needing new deals after this year or next, and it could become troublesome unless some of their depth guys develop quickly.
