The triumphant return of Alex Smith in NE next season would be a nice story. Don't know if he's got it in him though. He's 36 years old on top of the previously exploded knee.NE really needs a game manager QB to do what Bill wants, which is why I think he was (by his standards) so publicly upset when they traded away Jimmy G. Assuming Bill wants to hang around and prove he is the one with the mojo, I would aim for someone like that. Problem is there are not a lot of guys like that out there for the taking. All the halfway decent QBs in circulation right now are either head cases, inconsistent, or go off the reservation constantly. Cam is all three, but they have to ride him out for this year at least since they have no one waiting in the wings.
I wonder too. Good Jimmy does exist and we saw him in the first half of the Eagles game this year until he sprained his ankle. Didn't see him before that though and we sure haven't seen him since but that could be chalked up to the ankle not being fully healed.Have to wonder if GarapaGOAT days are numbered and at what cost that will set the 9'ers back
Chris Simms nailed it. If Im the Bengals Im looking to one of these teams needing a WR and dealing AJ Green for whatever you can get. Burrow, Mixon, Higgins, Boyd....you have your future core right there get what you can to a team like idk, the Saints maybe, who are in contention but need a WR.
