ANYONE WANT TO GUESS WHO GOT INJURED LAST NIGHT!?!?!?!?!?
Pittsburgh's ability to get its players hurt is almost as noteworthy as edmonton's ability to lose every single game no matter the lead they have. Step up your game fellas

Meanwhile in montreal, galchenyuk is becoming a stud of a #1 centerman, next 10 years looking pretty good!!

Caps look like shit tonight. 3rd game in 4 nights isn't helping but still.

Well this is how you fuck over a comeback attempt. Down 3-0 you pull it to 3-2 outshooting Rags 16-2 in the period, take a double minor for high sticking with 5:25 to go and immediately take a minor for hand pass off the faceoff to give them 5 on 3 for full 2 min.

Yeah, was fully expecting a caps comeback there. Crazy pressure in the offensive zone in the third. Special thanks to Chimera for the get out of jail free card tonight.

Can we talk about Rick Nash yet??

Nash is having a sick year...although his 2nd goal last night (the one to make it 3-0) was soft as hell from Holtby. Thankfully Lundy followed it up with an equal marshmellow on the Kuznetsov goal. After Ovie's snipe though and the domination we were showing in the 3rd I fully expected us to find a way to tie it. chimera's penalty was dumb as shit, I swear they showed him asking Backstrom in the box "is that a penalty?" Fucking retarded. Backstrom's double minor was already going to have killed any real chance though.

Edit: Should say Stoic, Rangers looked nails through the first 40 minutes. I'm not sure if we finally found our legs in the 3rd or you guys were sitting back with the 2-0 lead to start the 3rd, but even with how badly we were dominating the 3rd you guys were taking us to the woodshed for the first 40 minutes of the game.

They actually gave Nash the hat trick. That last goal they gave MSL was actually mishandled by Holtby after hitting the pipe off that Nashty snipe. I agree, wasnt the prettiest Hat trick but I was talking more about his season in general. He is the "key performer" literally every game this year at just about every area of the ice. He's playing consistent as fuck.

As for the first 40 minutes, yeah defense had Ovies number from the start (aside from him barreling through EVERYBODY). They played him perfectly keeping him to the outside and applied great pressure whenever he carried the puck. That soft call on him to start the second really set a bad pace for the Caps right out of the gate and cost them an important goal. I'm sure the Rangers started to turtle a bit in the third, but the Caps certainly seemed to find a whole lot more room in their offensive end and their forecheck was unforgiving. Lundqvist came up big when we needed him facing more shots in the first 15 of the third than than the first two periods combined. I was fully prepared for OT.

Honestly I wish they had sat Holtby on the front end of the back to back (especially with the team doing 3 in 4 nights too) and rested him a little for last night, but it is what it is. Would have liked to have seen the finish without us taking the stupid penalties.

They need to quarantine the Penguins until they are all cured. All their games in mean time will be forfeited

Pittsburgh's best offence tonight might be to wipe their nose on their glove, and lead with that. Everyone will flee the contaminated glove and let them skate in and score.

Someone figured out that you could put together a semi competitive team from the Penguins currently injured players.

Hornqvist - Sill - Dupuis

Bennett - Adams - Comeau

Downie - Wilson - ??

Letang - Ehrhoff

Martin - Maatta

Greiss

That line up could compete for the 8th seed in the East.

OK I promise I'll shut up about the injuries and diseases until the next piece of horrible news.

Letang played over 23 minutes on Saturday with 4 minutes in the box as well. Did he hurt himself in that game that I missed?

Btw was nice to blank the Pens at home, even with the amount of injuries you guys have right now you've been getting it done otherwise.

Edit: Hornqvist also played although only 6 minutes and change.

Minor injuries, might not miss any time but it was enough to make the list=P

Geno and Fleury have been carrying the team. If either of them has a really off night it has the potential to get ugly fast.

Sid just scored a goal though, here's hoping it's a sign that he's back near 100%. 4 points in December up until now is insane for him.

edit: Tootoo highsticks Bortuzzo then starts throwing punches before he's even turned around then when his helmet comes off tries to brain him on the ice. No power play.

Fleury gets blatantly slashed on the back of the leg, no penalty.
