Yeah, truf. And a weak powerplay is something I think you can legitimately put on coaching as we were awful there last year too.
I do think a new coach will do the team good and they need to figure out goalie. Keumper might be that guy down the line but he's obviously not ready to shoulder the full load right now.
I just feel bad for Yeo because he took the team to the playoffs two years a go, won a series last year, then the team theoretically got better on paper for this season. We started off hot, goaltending fizzled, a few losses snowballed and now we're a mess. It's business I just don't think it's really all his fault that Backstrom is 60 years old and that a 25 year old Keumper just isn't ready yet.

Hopefully he didn't mean it too much other than feeling bad for stepping that far out of character. Not that anyone really deserves it, but if anyone deserves an elbow to the head it's Downie.
Caps keep rolling last night, 1-0 over the Flyers. They really have got to let Holtby get a night off though. He's started 20 straight. Oddly enough he looks to be getting better with the workload, but everyone needs a break at some point. Points in 18 of last 19 games though (14-1-4). Only 3 back from 1st in the East.

I think Matt Niskanen felt bad for his old teammate James Neal tonight and handed the game winner to him on a silver platter with under 2 minutes left. This in Barry Trotz return to Nashville and after the Caps had turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead (thanks in part to an Ovechkin double). All went to shit giving up a PP goal with about 5 to goal and Neal's game winner with a buck/40 left.

Back on track. Malkin out with an undisclosed injury that will extend beyond the all star break. Letang is undergoing concussion testing and will probably miss time again.
Consol Energy Center is definitely built on an ancient Indian burial ground. Since it opened here's the top teams for man games lost.

Not that it's hard to find reasons to hate philly, but that Rinaldo presser after the game or w/e was infuriating to watch and I hate Letang. His cavalier attitude and almost crediting the win on the ensuing shitstorm really made it clear that he has no remorse.
Also since I know you don't wanna*flood your river of tears, looks like Sid got hurt as well. Him and Geno sitting out the all star game is probably just precaution, but with the Rangers 2 pts behind I am offering sacrifices to the hockey gods. Isles in the first round? Do not want...
