Okay, I know I rail on this, but what in the actual fuck is going on in Toronto? Worst in the league. By a lot. Not even a tiny slim glimmer of chance of playoffs. No one cares. Tickets keep selling.

Fuck Toronto fans right in the pussy. I'm a fan, and I want desperately for everyone to stop buying tickets and merchandise. I want that organisation to starve financially until they realise that the shit they have been pulling for the last 20 years is going to leave them with no fan base and no future.

Fuck them. GAH!
thought they were giving a lot of their young guys a look the rest of the year? Nylander has potted a couple goals I know.

Malkin out 6-8 weeks with an upper body injury. Hope the Pens squeak into the playoffs so they lose their 1st round pick to Toronto, then go one and done quickly.

Holy shit. With12 games leftToronto will be eliminated from the playoff spots if Detroit wins one game. This is a new low.

And it looks like zero Canadian teams will make the playoffs this year. Very weird.

Probably even starting next year, Kuznetsov will be the superstar on the Caps and it might not even be close. Ovechkin might still compete for top goal scorer, and Backstrom will still be a great two way center, but Kuznetsov is going to be the offensive engine in the years to come.

Sid is on freaking fire at the right time... at this point I would kinda prefer the first wild card spot to sneak into the Atlantic bracket.

That or a first round series with Washington. Fuck it, i'm ready to just get it over with. I feel so bad for Hank, he stands on his head and makes 42 saves yet we still lose to the Sharks saturday. This has been a painful season to watch.

It's weird I thought the Pens would take over the 1st wild card and have to go through the Atlantic and that we'd get to see a Rags/Isles series, with Detroit and Philly battling it out for the 2nd WC to play us...but Rags and Isles (especially the Isles) have struggled lately, and Pens have been hot. Made us look like hot garbage last night (which we were, and giving up 7 PP's is never smart). I never did hear if Weber got a call about that hit last night, which was a really bad hit.

Now it might be Isles and Flyers battling it out for the last spot, especially after Philly worked them tonight.

So unless I'm mistaken, the Caps only need 1 more point to clinch the President's Trophy. They better not let me down this year.

Edit: Actually, now that I look at it...it seems like they've already gotten it? The Stars and Blues are the only ones that could get to 111 points, but they'd be a couple games short on wins.

Dallas can tie us with ROW if they win out and we lose out in regulation, and they won the season series (all 2 games of it) so they can technically still win it. But yeah, any 1 point we gain or 1 point they lose and we win the President's Trophy.

In other news, Stralman out for the Lightning indefinitely. Leg fracture of some sort. Huge blow to them for playoffs.

God dammit now is not the time to be losing our insurance salesman, bad time of year to be losing good starters.

Suck it, teams that played consistently well all season! Pens are cup favorites. According to this one specific model that I know nothing about and only just learned existed!

It's actually gone up a little bit with tonight's win over the Rangers.

From this site.

Kings are actually higher ranked, but they have the tougher path.

I've never paid too much heed to advanced hockey stats like I do football. How much correlation is there between Corsi and teams that actually take the cup?

There is some correlation between score adjusted Corsi (a little more accurate than just the flat Corsi number) and who wins the Cup, but there have been winners as low down in the ranking for that as like 14th in the league I think. But on the whole, it's a good thing regarding making a deep run if you're ranked in the top 10 for score adjusted Corsi.
