I suspect you would find that the Shield tablet throttles pretty quickly, most mobile devices do because of heat. That said, I would assume the underclock is really for battery life, unlike tablets & phones this will be expected to last for hours while gaming.

Which is why I'm talking about the Shield TV (the motherfucking android set top box) and not the motherfucking tablet and comparing it to docked mode, not motherfucking portable mode, so no impact on battery life.

God damn it.

You said tablet.... and being docked doesn't change the cooling limitations of the form factor. In fact the U shaped dock will probably trap heat unless there is a fan in there.

Forgot I had "or tablet" in the post you quoted, because I made multiple posts after that one purely focused on the Shield TV.

Keep in mind the Shield tablet is only 9.2mm thick, while the Switch is expected to be around 1.5cm.

beyond good and evil 2 is apparently going to be a switch exclusive for 12 months, then available on ps4/pc/xbox. Also Rime will launch simultaneously on ps4/xbox/pc/switch, but sometime in june 2017 I think. BG&E2 only started production last year I think so its probably another 2-3 years from launch.

Sweet. A Beyond Good and Evil with an open world map and random shit all over the place with about a 5 hour story line.

Also, this thing has been rumored, confirmed, rumored again, confirmed again, for the last 7 years. Ubisoft would be committing financial suicide if they decided to go switch exclusive with this IP when Yves was already stated as saying they don't want another financial failure of this particular IP. But Ubisoft is filled with walking dumb asses, so nothing would surprise me at this point. Hopefully Vivendi takes them over before the 5th stop start of this gets too far and Ubi fucks it up.

This shit is going to have Monster Hunter and mainline Pokemon games I can play on my TV. Combining their two development arms into one device is a bigger deal than graphics or any other reason you can think of to skip this. The combined output of their console and handheld divisions will crush any other publisher.

I'm really excited about this. There are so many games and franchises I've never played (but always wanted to) because I haven't owned a handheld since Gameboy Color.

Fingers crossed for a new Nintendogs!

That's a placeholder price. There's even a note that will refund the difference when official price is confirmed.

japanese newspaper reports that switch will sell for 25k yen, which probably means $249 USD, 249 euros, and 199 brexit pounds. It directly translates to $213USD so could be $199 but usually companies use a 100:1 exchange rate for setting foreign prices instead of current market rates
