That damn ship is almost 3 times bigger than Vader's Executor height-wise, and that ship was friggin big. Didnt know they wanted the story to take place in Texaspace

that ship is megahuge but compared to the star destroyers? the large fin is really only the major addition and they had a bunch of star destroyers. in this universe that ship is not out of the realm of possibility. the empire was huge. the emperor just ran shit. those death stars and star destroyers probably did not come out of his personal bank account. also the rebels are not jedi, they are rebels, the senate likely would not totally be on board with them running the universe when there is a legit organizaion (the empire) that has maintained stability after the end of the Clone Wars.

It's just reaching the point -- have you ever listened to an 8 year old tell a story? He'll tell a little bit of it and then run out of the idea but he wants to keep talking and then the next big bad guy.. he's BIGGER and BADDER. It's part of the problem with the Thrawn fan-fic. Not that by itself it's such a horrible thing, but compared to what I was hoping for -- I was hoping for something a little bit less dumb, is all. The space ship porn is fine as space ship porn. I could probably fap to that.
Mandated constraints actually improve the work.
All that said, even if it is just juvenille story telling and space-booms -- still better than The Atrocity Trilogy.

The Galaxy Gun and other dumb shit pops up around the same time as that star destroyer. I think Palpatine had been cloned and was having the stuff built. There is a lot of dumb stuff in the EU.

In other words by the time of the prequels (some would say even before that) he was so full of himself he had completely lost all motivation and ability to self-edit. No idea was a bad idea if it was his idea. That's one reason why it would be bad.

-The original Star Wars story was envisioned as a nine part film epic split into three trilogies. If the original plan remains, the new trilogy will focus on the next generation of Skywalker children.
-With the Empire fallen, the background would be on rebuilding the Republic.
-The story may be set 30-40 years after Return of the Jedi, partly to match the age of the original actors.
-Lucas has suggested that part of the deal for Lucasfilms included his notes on the remaining trilogy.
-Although it is widely known that the original plan was for nine Star Wars films, Lucas' biographer Dale Pollock claims there are actually 12.
-C-3P0 and R2-D2 are rumored to be in the next three films.
-Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford have all reportedly been approached to be in the next trilogy in supporting roles.
-Hamill and Fisher have been spotted working out, and the studio has assigned them each a nutritionist to help get in shape.Neither the studio nor the actors camps' have confirmed any signings though.
