I really hope that an AEGIS cruiser knocks that thing out of the sky before it has a chance to go more than a few miles.

In the same way a lawyer does not ask a question he does not know the answer to, I doubt it's a clever diplomatic move to attempt a PR coup without being certain of the outcome. Since the AEGIS can miss, I doubt they will try an intercept.

I think they'll try all kinds of shit and only announce what worked. Though I have no idea of how secretive you can be when launching a missile at another missile.

We should ask the Russians help. They did after all shoot that meteor out of the sky.

Kinda hope the launch a missile. just to go fuck them up. I am sick of knowing millions of people suffer at this bullshit.

Well when you have no first hand experience at the cost of war, you get people who think like that.

If NK were to be invaded, by anyone, what're the chances we'd see something like the Saipan suicides again? Albeit, the Japanese have a strange affinity to suicide, not sure about the Korean culture - I should say the Kim Kulture

annnnnnnd now we're bloodthirsty. What the hell is happening here?
Wanting to depose the monstrous North Korean regime is hardly bloodthirstiness. Random trivia: The minimum height allowed for enrolment into the North Korean military has been reduced to 4' 9" because the endemic starvation of the population has led to entire malnourished generations. And that's for the people that are treated 'nicely' by the regime. Go google up reports of what goes on in the NK concentration camps if you want to see what happens when they're punishing people they don't like.

When NK finally falls (whenever that is and whatever the cause), the historical view is going to be "Why did the world let these people do these things for so long?"

I was thinking about this the other day. If the camps are as bad as people fear it might provoke that humanitarian response. But the truth is that the blame is on China for doing nothing to help her allies rather than the US for not starting a war against the people they were saving.

We can't do shit until they make the first move. The ball is entirely in China's court. Everyone knows we can't do shit with China sitting there. N. Korea entirely owes its continued existence to China. We pushed their shit in until the peasant army came zerging in from the north. And to this day China feeds them, empowering the government.

Well in NK and China's cases, as extreme isolationist countries (not so much China modernly), I don't know how much the US is to blame for their hunger problems.. Now the middle east is a whole other story.

I get kind of fired up on behalf of the palistinians sometimes...

I agree that our method of economic sanctions is a terrible method of improving the situation. I think we need to wrap them tightly into our economic system and make them dependent upon it. How we handled China during Nixon is superior to how we handled Russia, Iran, Cuba, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.

Bill Clinton's most idealistic opinion (albeit he IS a doer not a talker) basically states that -

"Selfless" and "Selfish" are interchangable and synonymous when the context is positive global change (i.e micro loans to Sumatra etc...) because by bettering struggling economies and societies, the US thereby broadens it's future's horizon.
