I can't remember the last time I used something other than an Nvidia card, but this might be AMD's chance with how this launch has gone.
AMD's new card launch will probably go a similar direction.

Honestly that's completely reasonable to me. I'll probably get one.looks like a new 3080 sku went up behind the scenes in nvidias backend files, people are guessing its the future 3080 with 20GB as it was listed with a price of $899, $200 more than the current 3080 FE

Or that's just the Canadian price. Tough to saylooks like a new 3080 sku went up behind the scenes in nvidias backend files, people are guessing its the future 3080 with 20GB as it was listed with a price of $899, $200 more than the current 3080 FE
10% improvement at 4K, totally not worth the price premium
3090s were rough, newegg sold out in under 15 seconds, nvidia was a bit choppy but lasted like a minute but most people lost it on the final page (gotta be fast like sonic), amazon hasn't put up theirs yet.
3080 seems the real sweet spot, but yeah waiting for the 20GB version, assuming its not ludicrously priced, will be the smart move I think.
He basically shits on Linus the entire video, which is nice, because Linus is a huge faggot.Calling out Linus with that money bit?

I would expect it to be essentially the same performance in current games. The 20GB gives you some future proofing as games continue to grow in memory demands.Thinking on this a bit - the 3080 20GB has to be less performance than the 3090... so how good can it realistically be?
The 3090 is at best 15% better than the 3080
lolI can't remember the last time I used something other than an Nvidia card, but this might be AMD's chance with how this launch has gone.
I'm going to ask the obvious question, is there anything out there that is going to remotely test these new cards?
I appreciate most of us are a bit older and have a chunk of disposable income so is it just more of a case of getting the best rather than compromising?
If AMD had something to rival the 3080, we would have heard all about it by now.I can't remember the last time I used something other than an Nvidia card, but this might be AMD's chance with how this launch has gone.
At 4k, It's ~13.5% more performance for 10% more watts, so it actually goes up in price per performance.Thinking on this a bit - the 3080 20GB has to be less performance than the 3090... so how good can it realistically be?

Why would you want a 3070 when a 3080 is only $200 more?At 4k, It's ~13.5% more performance for 10% more watts, so it actually goes up in price per performance.
I'm really interested in seeing the 3070 launch. Hopefully I can actually buy one before December.
Well my laziness saved me 1500 bucks this morning. 6am was way to early to get up and hunt a card down. 3080 with 20g of ram seems like the best choice. I really thought the 3090 would have been way better then the 3080.
