I put my pc to sleep when I don’t use it. How many hours a day are you gaming??I mean, it's the same thing as a gas guzzling car.
A computer that draws more electricity also produces more waste heat, which then has to be cooled by something, so it doubly contributes to your electric bill and energy footprint.
BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR FOOTPRINT?!@!??$I typically don't turn off my PC

Or there weren't as many bots buying 1700 dollar cards because they knew the markup would be 15% at best. It's surprising how many people actually got 3090s today as opposed to 3080s last week. Almost... Like it was planned
spronk gimme the nvidia new checkout link

The bots were still in full force but it makes no sense anyways. Why would you not a $700 card and resell for $1500 and just leave nvidia's stock of a better $1500 card. That's a bad business model. I guess sneaker heads are retarded thoughOr there weren't as many bots buying 1700 dollar cards because they knew the markup would be 15% at best.
The 3080s sold out because they are modestly underpriced vs expectations from previous generations.
Pretty much. Even if you can sell a $1500 card for $2000 on ebay, after the 13% in ebay/paypal fees you're netting $1740 on the transaction. If you have to pay tax on the card, you're paying about $1600. That's ~$150 profit for the transaction, not nearly enough to make it worth the effort. The bots were still in full force but it makes no sense anyways. Not just that, they actually changed the way the page works now. Those type of links won't work. I'm sure someone will find some way though
The one thing going for the 3090 is a lot of professionals actually "needed" it for ML, rendering, etcPretty much. edit: although I do see cards selling for $2400-2500 on ebay it would seem.
