200fps at 4k is why we're pc enthusiasts. If I wanted to settle for peasant console graphic fidelity and frame rates I 'd just buy a PS5XBOX ONE X performed, graphically, pretty adequately at 4K. Avengers looks amazing. However, load times are fucking insanely long compared to the 970 PRO in my PC. Something like 5-8 minutes for about 5-8 minutes of gameplay. It's the only reason I haven't been playing the shit out of it. I literally don't have the patience when I'm dealing with virtually instant load times. The PS5 and XSX are both effectively doubling or tripling the throughput on their drives compared to the 970 PRO. Graphically they may not shit out 200fps at 4K, but visual parity these days is so high it's hard to warrant buying a $700-1200 card when a $500 XSX won't be very far off. At least until PC developers start stretching their legs graphically to fill the 30x0 series pipeline.
That said, I'll still probably buy a 3090Ti in about a year and will hilariously sell my 1080Ti for $500.
I don't understand how anybody could justify paying $500 for a card several orders of magnitude worse in performance than a $700 card, regardless of the availability of said $700 card.To be fair I sold my 1080TI after I got a 3080 for like $460 a few weeks ago. Not sure why really, was hoping to get a few hundred at most.
Pretty much. I’m pretty sure they won’t have supply either. Covid + insane demand. I think I read Nvidia only fulfilled 7% of demand. So 93% of the people wanting a graphics card are still out there. Nvidias entire supply is sold out for over a month with only 7% of the people getting them and no relief in sight pretty much ensures the people waiting are going to say fuck it and buy whoever has something available. So, for someone who is still an old geezer rocking a 1060 6GB, what are my options in the next month or so? Pray AMD doesn't have shit availability?
You guys talk shit, but 1080Ti's are literally up on eBay right now for $400 for the cheapest. $500 for the exact model I own. That I paid $500 for over two years ago.If you sell that 1080ti for 500 let me know how please. More like 250.
They're that high now because the only alternative is a 2080 or 2080ti. That won't be the case next year (what you're going by) where the 1080ti will be lucky to match a 3060 or whatever AMD has out in that range. You guys talk shit, but 1080Ti's are literally up on eBay right now for $400 for the cheapest. $500 for the exact model I own. I would if I had one. Like getting a hell of an upgrade for $200, just have to go without for 4-6 monthsShit. I feel like I need to drop my evga 1080ti ftw3 up in ebay now. I'll pop my 970 back in and deal if I can basically have used my 1080 for free the past couple years.
Good point. I'm OK with that.I would if I had one. Like getting a hell of an upgrade for $200, just have to go without for 4-6 months
I’m running a 970, plays everything I want at good frame rates, just not maxed out. I’ll be waiting to play 2077 until I get a current gen card though. It may suck going from a 1080ti down to a 970, but for me just being on a 970 this whole time, doesn’t really bother me at all. Plays stuff better than my ps4 by a lot.Good point. I'm OK with that.
I have a feeling your body isn't worth 5% of a 3080.Will sell body for video card.
In this exact scenario now. It’s shite.I mean or they could just ship more cards and win. People are waiting for gpus to complete their builds and are pissed. You can picard me all you want
