To be fair I sold my 1080TI after I got a 3080 for like $460 a few weeks ago. Not sure why really, was hoping to get a few hundred at most.

200fps at 4k is why we're pc enthusiasts. If I wanted to settle for peasant console graphic fidelity and frame rates I 'd just buy a PS5

I don't understand how anybody could justify paying $500 for a card several orders of magnitude worse in performance than a $700 card, regardless of the availability of said $700 card.

Pretty much. I’m pretty sure they won’t have supply either. Covid + insane demand. I think I read Nvidia only fulfilled 7% of demand. So 93% of the people wanting a graphics card are still out there. Nvidias entire supply is sold out for over a month with only 7% of the people getting them and no relief in sight pretty much ensures the people waiting are going to say fuck it and buy whoever has something available.

i know a guy who sold a 1080ti for $750 on ebay a week ago, i think people who sold their old cards and were expecting to buy a new 3080 are downshifting

wonder if cyberpunk being delayed 3 weeks is gonna have any effect

They're that high now because the only alternative is a 2080 or 2080ti. That won't be the case next year (what you're going by) where the 1080ti will be lucky to match a 3060 or whatever AMD has out in that range.

I would if I had one. Like getting a hell of an upgrade for $200, just have to go without for 4-6 months

I’m running a 970, plays everything I want at good frame rates, just not maxed out. I’ll be waiting to play 2077 until I get a current gen card though. It may suck going from a 1080ti down to a 970, but for me just being on a 970 this whole time, doesn’t really bother me at all. Plays stuff better than my ps4 by a lot.

Are 3080's still worth scalping? Got a notification for an EVGA 3080 XC3 Ultra. I'm thinking (Ebay) prices are going to plummet after tomorrow's AMD announcement but I have to decide in the next 4 hours.
