Yep good deal considering aftermarket rate of a 3070 is 1200-1400 or so - The ASUS variants w/ 3070s come with the ASUS Dual GPUs and supposedly the 3080 comes with Strix, will find out for sure tomorrow.

How do you mean the ASUS variants and Dual GPUs tomorrow? Haven’t been paying attention much to this lately since giving up earlier.

Heh sorry i worded it wrong. The Asus 3070 prebuilt comes with the ASUS Dual GPU - the 3080 im picking up tomorrow comes with a 3080 Strix they say

I got the Asus machine with the 3070 this weekend from Bestbuy. Not a bad machine but already having issue of fans spooling up like a jet engine constantly, at one pt it did it and just completely shut the machine off. Yet nothing is running that hot, CPU and GPU at 50C

Chipset overheating? Make sure bios is up to date etc..

PWM fans? Are they plugged into the right headers?

I think it is primarily the case fan. There is an asus app called armoury crate and I believe it is the culprit. It has a bunch of "performance" settings seem to be making it unstable. Trying to trouble shoot it some now.

I read on reddit the cooling sucks on ASUS desktop PCs from bestbuy which i guess shouldnt be of any surprise to anyone.

Just playing OW and you think I was straining the thing to the max. My 8yr old PC can run OW at these settings without making a peep and at 140fps. Crazy loud , it does appear to be the CPU and case fan.

Do you have an FPS cap set? OW might be letting it run TOO hard.

I'd honestly just replace all the case fans with better fans, perhaps even a better CPU cooler (AIO maybe). Looks like there's room in there, and for $100 or so you'll get markedly better thermals and noise.

GPU temps went up 10-15 degrees when I got my 144hz monitor due to my 980 ti now being able to push 144fps instead of just 75fps.
