I’d go with the asus. More ram, more storage. More reasonable gfx card. And cheaper. The HP you’re going to spend more then have to upgrade those other aspects too, just for the 3090. Nothx.Worth it?

Just go in and see what gpus they have in the back and then buy parts if they have one in - also the powerspec with 3080 is usually with good specs but shit case and comes out cheaper than the 5800x with 3080 system from Asus
I did exactly that! I just got back. The only cards they have in stock the 6900 XT for above 1600 bucks. That's too much for my blood.
I bought my daughter a Powerspec a couple years back. The PS, MB and mem are all...generic crap. Granted it was a sub 1k system. Rather spend the extra few hundred and get exactly what I want and have peace of mind.
I really think Windows fucked with something. I had the exact same thing happen to my 5900x temps after a motherboard/windows update. I undervolted a bit and everything has been fine since. Really fucking strange and couldn't figure out why my CPU was idling at 70-75C, with 1-2% CPU use. Weird thing is that it didn't increase in games much, just stayed at a constant 70-75C.Thought my 3080 went into the shitter just now. Was playing FFXIV and the screen lost connection. Could hear the game still but rebooted the computer, luckily the screen went on again but it warned me the 5900x was overheating. Checked temps and it was sitting at 78C at idle and 90C+ in games.
Removed the cpu and reapplied Grizzly Thermonaut paste and now it's at 67C while gaming. Can the paste lose all effectiveness all of a sudden? Supposed to be a good brand also, I did apply it with the smearing it out technique last time but it was like 6 months ago. This time I just made a big lump and squished the cpu down.
Not temp related but a few days ago after restarting my PC my computer said I had installed a new CPU and gave my a prompt about resetting TPM, so I'm prone to believe Windows did something fuckyI really think Windows fucked with something. After messing with a few undervolt curves, I'm able to consistently idle at 39-41C, around 48ish when browsing, and 50-70C gaming, depending on the game. The nice thing about the undervolt is the CPU taking advantage of PBO more consistently. Actually had one of my cores peg just a tad over 5000mhz at one point.
Resell. Lots of pineapple porn this buys.I got a notify for a EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA the other day but at 1400 it was way too much.
Damn! You can't even get in line to get in line anymore.
Yeah I really didnt like paying that price but it was either continue to wait and wait and wait or pay some mutoid scalper.I got a notify for a EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA the other day but at 1400 it was way too much.
