Almost always yeah, but it does it with no other apps running, that's one of the first things I tried. I'm just at a loss what could possibly cause it. Like I could understand a background app causing a game's FPS to drop from 100 down to 20 for a bit, but normally the actual game should keep ticking at the same speed generally speaking. You should still be able to fire the same number of arrows so to speak, albiet at a lower FPS. Whatever is happening it's like it's causing the whole CPU to go into slow motion like a really old PC where you un-turbo the 386 down to 286 speeds so everything is slow motion.
That happened to me the other day. I launched a metroidvania type game that’s not taxing at all. It launched in slow motion and stayed that way. I thought it was funny so tried killing a boss a few times in that state but the button lag was driving me nuts. It’s like it was playing at 25% normal speed, not frame shuttering or anything.

Anyways I closed it, went to my nvidia window and saw it had a 30 FPS lock ticked on (Which that wasn’t really what was happening, 30 FPS isn’t the same as slow mo) unticked it and relaunched. It played like normal after that but I’m not sure if that FPS limiter caused it or it just launched oddly. That FPS thing was probably on for a few days when I was troubleshooting monitors last week and it only happened once in that one game.

I opened up my z690 Aorus and saw a usb drive inside and literally died wondering why no other boards have put their dam drivers on them. Maybe others have before but i know none of the previous MSI or Gigabyte boards ive owned had them on drives instead of a dumb CD. Perhaps they just dont give you usb drives until you spend $900 on a board.

There is a ton of very consumer friendly shit that could be done frequently, that would cost very little, that just isn't. Including CD's these days instead of thumb drives is just absurd. Front panel connectors still being just the loose wires that are a pain in the dick instead of giving a thing to connect them to first that connects to the motherboard, that is probably pennies worth of plastic. Stuff like water pumps that are still running on fucking MOLEX FOR POWER. Cases with front panel USB and stuff that isn't actually long enough to reach motherboards. Tie down spots in cases for cable routing. Shit, even just making cases an extra inch wider so you have more space behind the motherboard.

I could probably rant for a while

This here is why i end up spending like an extra $50 a build buying extra hubs and connections so my wires are all jacked up.

For a while there really wasn't room in the margins for this stuff. Now that prices are going up there can be.

But there probably won’t be. Companies like turning margins into profits instead of making customers happier.

You do know they fixed the issue with AMD on windows 11 right? Also the 1300 PSU is stil l dumb and cpu juice on intel will still go down as they continue to shrink the node so not sure why youre happy. Also the 12900k and 3090 still runs fine on 850w the cpu only goes crazy on heavy CPU loads which has 0 to do with gaming.

Furthermore you have a 1300w PSU on a 5950x and gloating on a 1300 PSU in a situation that would be for 12th gen intel and not you 5000 series AMD so in your situation there is "0" justification beyond the fact you couldnt refute a sales person who likely cant even replace ram and when you were called out you ran and only came back to post this drivel thats incorrect.

Graphics card PCi-E slot locks makes me want to murder someone. Small and tiny and usually can't be gotten to without a lot of cussing. I have one that has to be pushed down to release; one that has to be pulled up, and had one that had be pushed in. Worse, you can't tell which type it is by looking at it.

Front panel connectors. Why is this a thing? Would be ok if they all understood that black = GND but they don't. Also, I know about the arrow on the connector which is fine for the times I have an electron microscope floating around that I can use to see it.

SATA power and data connectors. These are backwards from the power supply which makes the long end the shortest end. Yes yes, I know you can flip over the drive, but the motherfucker is still backwards on the line.

Reminds me of the time my GF bought pantyhose. She never had them before and didn't know which way they went on. LMAO.

I defended your purchase and this is an all-time terrible post. "Future proofed with Windows 10 Home" is going to become a meme.

It's sad that he's forgotten that the issue with Win 10 was that he paid 10 times too much for it.
