4090 Strix OC got em mad. I felt a change in the force soon as it hit my hands.

Memory reading at 49000 with 64gigs plugged in. What's the best way to diagnose which stick is the problem?

Or just don't bother and call warranty on the two sticks?
What does this number mean? 49gigs of your 64gigs is showing up?

Apparently yeah 3 sticks worth detected. Trouble-shooted it some more just now.

I had figured no chance it was a seating problem because I had to put real horsepower down to get the stick to fit next to the NZXT. Scraping, snap crackle pop type of affair. Motherboard was a concern with the type of force being applied but I needed to at least attempt it because of the slim chance I could fit it.

Not a warranty issue. I'll just need a more sleek or smaller cooler that doesn't bend its connector out towards the RAM deck. The slot closest to the cooler is obstructed. Coolers gotta go at some point.

Anything that's not going to potentially burn your place down in the middle of the night is a step in the right direction.

Asus, like NZXT, certainly knows how to do that. Its amazing how far some brands have fallen.

another article talks about the 40x0 Supers that will be coming out this year, most with 16GB of VRAM while the 4090 super would still have 24GB of VRAM

nvidia meanwhile is over $1 trillion in market cap, thanks to their new AI push. I bought nvidia stock at like $80 years and years ago and its over $400 now, go team ripoff

"AI" is the new "Cloud" buzzword from 2008-9. The only difference is cloud wasn't going to kill us, just use all of our electricity since the Green Meanies won't let us make any more.

My conversation with every security vendor ever: "Well it's actually just a rules based engine right now but we're rapidly investing in other types of AI".

DOT COM. New AI is much like it. Stick AI behind the most boring non digital shit in the world and it's now smart and new.

if you're a vet/military or have a relative you can get a 4090 for $1519 no tax, similar discounts for other 40xx models

i haven't really kept up since i almost never game on my PC and i'm fine with my 3080ti, but is the general consensus now to basically skip 40xx and wait for 50xx?

I don’t think so? These things run the fuck out of everything that exists.

Not specifically related to 40x0 cards but there are a number of places, Amazon and Newegg in particular, that have 7900 XTX and XT cards from various mfrs with coupons, XFX, Asrock and Sapphire to name several, that are on sale with 100ish coupons, plus Affirm has a coupon for 10% off bringing the XTX cards down to 880ish/855ish? and the XT down to 720ish, IIRC, plus all of the 6000 series cards seem to be on sale as well. See Slickdeals.net which seems to have all of the deets as ususal.

In front of Prime day, there are deals again, 4080s down to 1100 and the Gigabyte 7900 XTX down to 900 at both Newegg and Amazon.

Did anyone watch this? lol. 148W power difference on average between the RTX 4080 and the 7900 XTX for the same performance, advantage Nvidia.

That's insane.
