Weird. Is doing a sex scene where some person's genitals are going to be photoshopped onto your crotch really that much better than getting screwed on film yourself? To produce scenes of unsimulated sex, Von Trier is having the genitals of porn actors digitally composited onto the bodies of the film's cast.
not really, softcore films have been inserting body doubles engaging in hardcore sex scenes for over 40 years. you can usually tell when just the genitals are show in edits. jess franco and tinto brass are famous for this.Seems like a lot of work
Your life's gotten weird, bro. Will there be clits cut off with scissors?
Will there be dicks smashed up and jacked off til they cum blood?
If not, I'm not interested.
Ok, so, I'm not trying to be a smartass here but judging from that trailer -- what exactly would the goal be?I doubt titillation is the goal of Von Trier.
Maybe he thinks he can do to Pornos what Hitchcock/Pyscho did to horror?Ok, so, I'm not trying to be a smartass here but judging from that trailer -- what exactly would the goal be?
Thats...actually a pretty accurate summation of the guy's work, imo. He's a bit like a behavioral scientist gone mad--poking people to see what they'll do.
Jeremy's dong will be the one that looks wilfred brimley slamming face first into a roast beef sandwich. So do they have a list of which pornstars genitalia will be representing the actors/actresses? If not, I see a fun new game coming called Guess Who's Genitals! Inb4 some guy chooses Ron Jeremy.
so the purpose is titillation.Thats...actually a pretty accurate summation of the guy's work, imo.
Galgor is exactly right. Welcome to Lars Von Trier and more broadly welcome to what started withDogme 95 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaVon Trier frequently makes use of meta-narratives. So while you may be watching something considered pornographic, there's a story to be had beyond the image itself. If you watch the filmAntichrist, and you tell me it's about a man and wife grieving the loss of a child--your really missing the better story being told.
Additionally, he likes making his audience uncomfortable. He even likes putting his actors into situations they are uncomfortable in. He's a bit like a behavioral scientist gone mad--poking people to see what they'll do. So the idea of making the audience his petri dish doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
After THR [The Hollywood Reporter] confirmed with a spokesperson for the film that the clip had been removed over nudity, YouTube reversed its decision and restored the footage on the site. "With the massive volume of videos on our site, sometimes we make the wrong call," says a YouTube spokesperson. "When it's brought to our attention that a video has been removed mistakenly, we act quickly to reinstate it." The service also added an age-restriction in order to protect younger viewers.
