Saw the mass market Hasbro action figures at Target yesterday. Not nearly as big a display as the Fortnite section, but still substantial. For a kid of the 80s who grew up with Star Wars / G.I. Joe / Transformers / Masters of the Universe the idea of gaming being the source IP for an action figure line is somewhat wacky. Sure there were Nintendo toys even back then, but they were never mainline franchises with large endcap displays!

It also makes me wonder what the fuck Blizzard is up to with this IP. They should have had a Netflix series released by now and/or be working on something grand to really move it to the next level and instead its just fizzling. Did all the creative juices in Blizzard just drift out the door?

Seems like it. Nearly all of the heroes added since 2017 have been garbage too. Brig, Doomfist, and Sombra are all disasters.

I wouldn't say that.

2016 Heroes:

Ana - The best main healer in the game if you can aim.
Sombra - She's really good now, but only at High Elo's. You can only get value out of her Ultimate in a true team setting. I think her stealth should be on a timer and shouldn't be infinite.

2017 Heroes:

Orisa - Good Main Tank
Doomfist - He should have never been designed around a one shot kill mechanic especially after they just nerfed Roadhog for being able to do it. His balance will always seem to either be OP or underpowered.
Moira - Good main healer hero

2018 Heroes:

Brigitte - One of the worst designed heroes in the game.
Hammond - Pretty balanced tank hero and is very fun to play.
Ashe - Pretty decent hero sniperish hero.

2019 Hero:

Baptise is good, but his character model is pretty bland and uninspiring.

New map that wasn't even put on PTR, and two All-Star OWL skins were added today. Havana is an escort map so it won't be as bad as Paris is.

Not just for OW but all their IPs. OW in game cutscenes look fantastic. Blizzard has always had top notch cutscenes yet theyve never done anything with them.

I agree with You. Ana is an amazing hero and probably one of the most iconic videogame character in recent history. I love how she is brought to life and the way she is animated while she is shooting a gun with her left eye.

Baptiste is truly boring design wise. The original skin lack the special something that all other OW hero original skin got. The talon skin is pretty decent IMO.

Moira is pretty good and the Anime inspiration really give her something interesting other than being a "evil" healer. Just like Ana the voice actress does a phenomenal work.

Hammond is fun and he is growing on me.

Ana and Hammond are really good. Deep, high skill cap, well designed, fun.

Moira can be effective and fun to play, but the total lack of aim for how effective she can be is a bit eyeroll for a game that's supposed to be an FPS. Same with Brig, who is also absurdly effective with nearly zero mechanical skill, and is realllllly oppressive to play against.

Sombra's entire design is taking away other people's ability to play the game. It's not that she isn't effective, it's that she's an ult bot that basically shits on your team once every few minutes with zero counters. As someone who watches a LOT of OWL, I think sombra gameplay is some of the most uninspired shit I can possibly watch, and I think it's because the kit is just not designed well.

Ash is cool, but isn't quite good enough at any one thing from an OWL perspective to be worth playing.

I guess my opinion is moreso that the game shortly after Ana's release was more fun to play than it is right now. I also think it was more fun to watch and was largely more skill based.

Yeah I agree but Moira is hard capped DPS wise. You can't improve on DPS and if you focus on getting medals you will probably stay gold or plat. You will start climbing when you learn how to manage her ressources.

The challenge with her is ressource management but she can somewhat defend herself and is really good at peeling. If you go full selfish or DPS she can't do enough by herself to carry anything over gold.

It's too early to tell since it's hard to find a good competitive match but Havana final point defense seems a little OP. The defenders have a lot of advantages, two high ground positions with strong frontal cover, very close spawn area, ample areas to easily hide from ults (you are never more than 3-4ft from a line of sight break.

Sponsors, Disney, Comcast all putting big money into this but it often feels like it doesn’t get the attention from Activision for this to work. MAU’s continues to decline when they need the market to be growing .

As a fan of the game and the league I really want it to work and they have the kind of partners who can make that happen.

It's should be a pretty awesome final tomorrow between the Titans and the Shock...both are playing at a level way above the rest of the league right now. Titan still undefeated this season.

This could change for stage 3 if rumors are true. It looks like there will role lock 2-2-2 in stage 3 in OWL, so that would mark the end of GOATS. It will come later to competitive for the rest of us.

The nyxl vs van match was worth the wait. Almost all goats but the highest level and very close despite the score. Sanfran will benefit alot from analysis, but I still think van will win.

222 is such a huge change to do in the middle of a season if true. I hope they wait for a change like that for season 3. I mean trades were made based on goats for this season.

Shock have found a pattern in bumper's shield usage. Every time he drops it a huge volley hits him. They must have watched vods with a stopwatch and trained everyone for the timing.

The 2-2-2 change is just going to make the game go back to Dive... ugh. It'll make QP tolerable though so there is that. No more instalock 5 DPS comps in QP so I'm all for that.

Blizzard is just terrible at balancing this game in the end.
