I enjoyed building my lava tamer. I only need two steam generators though. Will tighten it a bit when it goes dormant.

Day 1021. I built some rockets and did some exploring but realized having an entirely meat-based diet was limiting. I added sleat wheat + blossom to get the berry sludge which has a revolting animation. This motivated me to redo how my liquids and gas are done in my base, which is still ongoing. I want to explore a planet but not sure which one I should go for first.

I recognise that build! Check out his hot steam vent tamer, it's a work of art.

I spend most of my time in Oni either exploiting bugs or working around them. That tamer is a great example. Coercing the magma into chunks with mesh tiles and corners is hilarious. Using the open door as a "vacuum" to pause the heat into the steam room is genius.

I don't have a hot steam vent though!

Yeah mechanised airlocks are the best mechanism for controlling the amount of heat you're transferring.
I used that same build a few times back before nuclear power was added. End game power stability used to be much more of a concern which is why some of Tony Advanced builds are designed around getting stable power output. His Hot Steam Vent tamer is also tuned for power output and combines some even more amazing bugs/features of ONI such as a door compressor and bead pumps.
These days with nuclear power and the ridiculously good geothermal heat pump that came with the latest DLC those kinds of things aren't needed so much, although they're still amazing.

Why can't you have the same number of sinks and toilets with one door, why are you like this?

They have the same plumbing, it's nothing to fix this.

Show us the germ filter.

Oh, I was doing some experimenting and tried out different things. Then left it alone for like 300 cycles because I dont' give a fuck about toilets. I'm not a plumber.

I'll send you the germ filter but it's very clean inside my base and none of my dupes get germ sicknesses.

One of the beds has 1883 germs on it and is assigned to Ari. Here's his character sheet.

I wonder what would happen if I just deleted all the sinks?

Dupes will get food poisoning more often which just reduces their productivity by making them have to go to the bathroom and sleep more. It's not very noticeable.
Germs in ONI mostly don't matter. Slimelung used to be deadly in early access (it would literally kill dupes if they were sick for too long) but now it's kind of meaningless.
Zombie Spores are the only one that really matters, it's non lethal but it's pretty annoying as they make the dupe basically useless until it wears off which takes forever. Its not that easy to catch it though.

So in short you definitely could delete all the sinks in your bathroom. You could even further mitigate the reduced productivity by having a single sink that your cook has to wash his hands at on his way into the kitchen to stop all of your food from having food poisoning germs on it.

I tend to go the other direction and not only have 1 sink per lavatory (usually 3-4 in the colony and I break up their use by having all my dupes on different schedules), but I also run the pee water through a chlorine room to disinfect the water before it's recycled back into the bathrooms, otherwise you are using germ filled water in the sinks and showers. Which literally does nothing as it's impossible to catch food poisoning that way and the germs don't transfer onto the dupes when they use a sink/shower, but deleting all germs from the game is one of the many objectives I usually set for myself in ONI.

Yep that is absolutely normal.

This occurs when an atmo suit (or mask) that is at 0 durability gets taken off - which typically happens at a checkpoint. Any oxygen still in the suit gets dropped on the floor in a bottle.

The bottle drainers added in one of the recent patches kind of solve that issue in that you can leave it forever set requesting O2 and so when bottles gather at your checkpoint a dupe will drain the bottle back into your O2 pipeline.

My problem with suits right now is I don't know how to automate the delivery of suits. Ex:

1740795897115.png

I've got a storage container with suits, I have an auto-sweeper in range of them. I still have to click "Deliver Suit" for the auto-sweeper to activate. So every few dozen cycles I end up with a bunch of unused suits in my container and a dearth of available suits in docks.

Oh, the other atmo suit problem I have is I take the atmo suit off my dupe when they're in the space ship, and then when they land I have no way I can see to have them put the atmo suit back on before leaving the spaceship where my landing pand is a 300+ degree broiler. By the time they beeline it to the base they're about dead.

You can put the suit back on by clicking/selecting the suit on the ground, then in the Options window that opens you can choose a dupe to put it on and the dupe will run over, pick it up and put it on.

But what I do is have an atmo suit checkpoint right at the door of the rockets. This is my standard rocket interior.

I have the same issue and always have. I'm not aware of a solution other than turning suit durability off. It's just one of those regular maintenance tasks I have to do every 10 cycles or so, go back to my docks and request suits for them all.

Another question. My space shit keeps getting entombed, despite having meteor protection, what am I doing wrong?
