like many, i'm so scared this will get the transformers treatment, i hope the human element is only like 40% of the movie and we get 60% of just kaiju vs robot. Heck i'll even settle for 50/50, but like transformers... dear lord that was like 90% human and 10% robots.

I can't remember if it was Jurassic Park or Godzilla, but the reason for the rain was it made the CGI look more "real" or just better, when wet. For whatever reason. And this was years ago so maybe it's just because it looks cool now.
