Going to be honest though, I'm not liking the distinct lack of giant cannons and huge ass swords so far. I was really happy about that one scene, until I realized they were just swinging a oil tanker...

I'll be pleased as punch if this is like the anti-Darth Maul spoiler idiocy and they pull out some giant ass swords in the movie unexpectedly.

they have giant cannons....sorta. Now i cant check every trailer but there are scenes where you see couple jaeger open their chest with some sort of artillery battery/giant cannon....thing.

And as Homsar said, seems like only the australian one has something similar to swords

Australia has the uber Jaeger, there is a list of stats, which lists everything. US has the most kills/oldest? Australia is the most powerful, Russia is pretty much a tank, and Japan is the weakest haha. not sure if this is the right ones

yes i know but didnt remember it had both. The american is the "strongest old mech". It's the only Mark-3 in the list infact. Japan, China and Russia are Mark-4. Austr is the only Mark-5 and pretty much OPed

and yes, the japanese being the weakest is a big fuck you to the country who invented the genre haha

the russia pilot is pretty hot btw

its not a matter of kill count tho, its also a matter of having the weakest stats. even weaker than Gypsy danger that should be outdated

Ya, the Japanese mech seems pretty weak sauce. Maybe at the end of the movie it will reveal that they had actually been saving all their resources for a Mark-6 model and it's basically a 200 foot tall ninja.

I've got ratio to spare, and brain cells to kill. Downloading it now, I'll watch it, probably tomorrow night, but if not this weekend for sure.

It seems to me that those movies would do a lot better if they had abundant nudity, but alas.
